Everything is in walking distance - a great market for groceries, lots of restaurants, and several boat charter companies. We didn't rent a car, and I'm so glad we didn't, taxis are great for venturing out.
Walk to the Point by Simpson Bay Resort ( practically next door) and enjoy the sunset and a cocktail - its so beautiful.
The bonfire at Buccaneer Bar ( also next door) on weekends is so much fun- and they have good food and drinks at reasonable prices.

Is a lovely bay with a long white sandy beach, the water is turquoise, but due to the sand being very thin the water is quite milky, resulting in poor visibility under water, still super enjoyable if you want to relax and read by the sea.

We had booked an ocean-view room and were given one... but it was on the lowest level and we mostly saw lawn and trees rather than ocean. Thankfully they moved us to a higher floor and that made a huge difference in our stay. The hotel location is great with free parking. It has everything you need at a resort - good restaurants, a spa, activities onsite and more. We had a rental car that was perfect to sightsee for three days around the island. There is no lack of restaurants, bars, supermarkets and spas anywhere on this island! Note that on Sundays a lot of stores are closed if you stay over a weekend.

Best area to stay when visiting SXM, honesty the night life, food , people its just the perfect location to be in! Day or night Simpson Bay is really just amazing. Close to Beach areas as well , safe to walk to and from any hotel.
The staff was extremely accommodating, and the beach was exceptional. We asked if we could drop bags early, and since our room was ready, we were able to put our bags in our room, and were able to check in early. Our flight the next day was later in the day, and they offered to let us hang at the hotel and beach until we were ready to catch our flight. There are lounge chairs just outside the rooms, which are 30 feet from the water. There are foot washes for each room to help keep sand out of rooms.
Nice view of ocean from our deck, and lovely pool near us on the property, nicely landscaped, good parking. Reasonable cost. Friendly, helpful neighbor next door. Big refrigerator & several condiments, teas, coffee, & filters were provided. Place was more like an airbnb than the hotel we expected, but we like airbnbs too. Excellent directions to find it & host was instantly available by phone. Good Wi-Fi. Comfortable bed & pillows.
Childfriendly and cozy hotel. Very friendly personal.
Beach and pool possibility, which is ideal when travelling with kids younger then 12. Beautiful beach, supermarkets and restaurants nearby. Loved that you could take a bike also to get to a little supermatket nearby.
Our daugther loved the cats.
A quiet residential location. A park like athmosphere in the location. The location is still quite near the busy Simpson Bay area with ATMs, bars and restaurants. And not far from the airport. Burger King and a huge supermarket next to it are nearby. There is also a smaller supermarket nearer.
Whenever I go to SXM, I always stay at Commodore Suites. This place is my "2nd" home. I love everything about this place. Clean room, comfortable bed, very friendly staff especially the general manager Ms. Tashiann, very good location and very accessible to all.
Hotel is very clean and on the beach. The staff was amazing and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean and and recently renovated. The beach and bars and restaurants were very accessible 10 minute walk or 2 to 3 minute drive!
The hotel is clean and comfortable to stay with. Complementary breakfast or lunch. Accessibility to beach and Market. Staffs were good - Shanay, Cristina and Joycelyn were all accommodating and friendly. Nice experience and stay!
Great location. Large suites and large kitchen. Wonderful sprawling balconies and views. Martin at the beach was very kind and attentive. Connie at the front desk was very kind as well. Everyone else was rather short with us.
Great position in Simpson Bay! All what you need is located by walking distance: supermarket, restaurants and bars/pubs.
The resort has everything you need, plenty of space and activities available!
The hotel was fine, nice little pool at the top and clean rooms, but I think at that price I would expect that breakfast was included and that there would be an airport shuttle included.
Room is … at the most .. OK. Service terrible.
Price/quality …. bad. “We do not clean every day ..” New towels … that s it. Pricing as If it is a 5 star hotel. it isn’t .. at all.
the location to Simpson Bay was fantastic! the staff was very friendly and even let us store our luggage after checkout before we headed to French side. We will definitely return.
