Very nice room with a balcony overlooking the river. It was a bit worn in places and could use some maintenance, but nothing major. We had a comfortable night's sleep. Fast WiFi, easy private parking, decent breakfast included. Very good option for an overnight stay.

The area around is beautiful situated in the mountains.
The area around is beautiful situated in the mountains. The roads bend and rise up and down with very little traffic. There are many local restaurants offering cheap local foods. A great place to stop while travelling around the area.

Mae Sarioang is the one crossroad of the R108 and R105 between Mae Hong Song in the North, Mae Sot in the South and Hot/Chiang Mai to the East. Mae Sariang is for many an overnight stop from one of those places to one of those places, what does not gives Mae Sariang the attention it deserves. It is a great hub, for a good number of day trips into the mountain, to and along the Salaweng river and to a great number of viewpoints on relatively good paved roads and some dirt roads. It has conserved the old days charm of a slower Northern Thailand / Lana small town with enough bars, restaurants and coffee shops to fill a week. A good place to stay a bit longer and explore the hill tops, river villages and coffee plantations, before you are heading off to the next point.

A small town which most people use as a stopover on the Mae Hong Son Loop. It is a lovely place with some lively local spots on the river.
Trekking and rafting available.
Recommend Ching Ching bar for drinks and Redwood and Coriander restaurant for great food. Cheap massage in local spots.

Mae Sariang is beautiful.
Mae Sariang is beautiful. Pwo Karen tribes make up about 50% of the town. It lays in a beautiful green valley surrounded by tall mountains and has 2 rivers run through it. Lovely views! Glad we stopped and visited friends. Great coffee shops too. Nice stop over if you are doing the Mae Hong Son loop. We started in Chiang Mai, then to Pai, Mae Hong Son and Mae Sariang and back up to Chiang Mai. We took 5 days and enjoyed all the viewpoints and highlights along the way. We ate dinner at the Coriander Restaurant and the the Salmon dinner was the best I have had. Salmon cooked to perfection!

Small town with a lot of good eats.
Small town with a lot of good eats. We would have loved to stay 2 nights but we were just passing through.it was low key and now ridiculously touristy like Pai. We are at the Coriander resort restaurant. It was delicious and reasonable.
Fantastic accommodation. The rooms are very clean and comfy in a great spot in town, but what separates it are the wonderful staff.
The host Miss Jeab was always available via WhatsApp, and was able to help us with whatever we might need, whether it was renting bikes or mopeds, finding a guide for a river cruise, giving extremely useful tips about where to visit and eat.
It really made the difference between Mae Sariang being just another stop on our travels, and somewhere that will be an absolutely highlight.
Location was splendid as we passed through on the latter stage of the Mae Hong Son loop. Very clean facilities, only thing we were disappointed to not see was a bum gun in the bathroom, but seeing as the hotel was built all of teak in 2001, it makes sense that they have to be careful about how plumbing was set up. Otherwise, the coffee was great, view of the river was splendid, and the bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend to all passers through.
I stayed in bungalow 2 . Everything was perfect for me, new bungalow, clean, ac/fridge, balcony with a really nice view on the garden . One of my best stay in thailand i could have stay many more nights, the place is very nice and quiet just outside the city, beautiful garden with banana and other fruit tree you can walk around, very well maintained garden. The best place to stay in mae sariang if you are doing the loop
Spring bed was a little bouncy buy ok to sleep on better than hard beds I've had all over Asia. Arrived late soaked from driving in thunderstorms. Was able to heat the room up to 30c with the AC unit to dry out. There was complimentary water and a fridge do was able to buy drinks from nearby 7/11 for the morning before continuing on the Mae Hong Son Loop. Bike parking was no problem outside the hotel.
This is a fantastic place to stay, beats a hotel hands down! Very friendly staff, super clean, spacious room, peaceful, the grounds are very well maintained with nice views from both the front and back. A nice light complimentary breakfast is available.and very friendly staff. Will be staying here on out return trip.
The Riverhouse Hotel (Teak House) is centrally located in small Mae Sariang. It’s a bit tricky to locate as there are many places along the river called “River”. There was a warning that the rooms are audible due to the wooden structure, but it didn’t bother us. We a good breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant.
the hotel is simple but good, the location is convenient. the owners are just great. I forgot my first aid kit in my room and found out about it already in another city, the owners themselves decided to send me a first aid kit by mail to Phuket at their own expense, thank you very much)
Above the Sea owner and staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Owner is also a fitspo that has lots of gym facilities available. He can converse well in English and Thai which makes it easy for local and foreign travellers exploring Mae Sariang.
Romantic building completely made of wood and on the bank of the river.
Lovely terrace. Good food and drinks.
The rooms have balconies on the Riverside.
Room has good airco and shower.
The staff is very friendly and they speak English.
The Riverside is a decent and clean hotel at good location. Of course, this is a no-frills hotel but it is still pleasant to stay there as traveler. The restaurant is really good, serving decent food and nice and fresh wine and beer.
Could have easily stayed in the front yard the whole day. You got a bar and food all in one place. The staff were amazing, very helpful and willing to help with anything. Thanks a lot for everything!!
House built of reconditioned teak about 20 years ago. On the river in Mae Sariang. Owner/ manager was extremely helpful with fluent English. We had an excellent evening meal here,
Nice little boutique hotel close to everything you need. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and shower had decent water pressure. Breakfast was average but good.
Good option if you‘re in Mae Sariang with your own vehicle. Peaceful and quiet. AC any fridge we’e the newest and best I’ve seen in SEA. Value for small money.
