I did not expect it to be a beautiful, clean, safe place to walk around even at night. Despite the language barrier, people are nice and accommodating trying to help you with direction. I noticed that the drivers are very patient and seldom use their horn and gives priority to pedestrian. Parks and trees are everywhere. Food and stay is affordable.

We had wonderful time in Tajikistan. I would highly recommend Dushanbe as a cultural experience. Tajikistan is over 90% mountains and the views are wonderful. The general populace is extremely hospitable and kind. Go informed, however. This country is small, poor, and has a corruption problem. The border guards are known to let you in without filling out an immigration card and giving you grief for it when you leave, hoping for bribes. The water is not safe to drink, and I would not recommend buying food from street vendors. If you are traveling from America, do not be surprised at small inconveniences like showers being broken, food items not on the menu, or airplanes running a couple of hours late. But these are small inconveniences. Buy your water, do your homework ahead of time on immigrations, and allow extra hours in your travel times. Relax and enjoy the scenery! You won't be sorry!

We didn't find a lot to do in Dushanbe but would absolutely recommend visiting the world's largest teahouse to see the amazing craftsmanship. Not really a teahouse and can't think of the name of it.

I was in Atlas Hotel. It’s really great. - The hotel provides 24 hours coffee, tea and water. It helps a lot when the weather changes. - The staffs are so nice and always willing to help. They speak English fluently. - The room is clean. Worth for money. - The location is close to the airport. Very easy to get there. Location was great. arrangement in the deluxe apartment was also good. Staff was very nice and helpful. I will be back for sure in this hotel. It is good I asked for pick up so it was easy to get in the hotel especially if you are traveling by night. You feel safe in this hotel since it is secured starting from the garden door. Furniture of the hotel was great, new equipment and fully functional.

Great place, well located in central Dushanbe. The property is part of a traditional style central asian house which has been annexed off to create a private residence. The property is very clean and newly refurbished to a high standard with modern fixtures and fittings. The host's lovely mother lives next door and is available to help with any problems (providing you speak Russian/Tajik)

Breakfast was great prepared with love from the owner himself. If you need anything they will gladly help you in their own capacity. Cleanliness, location, staff was amazing! I would definitely recommend this to my friends and if I will have a chance to be back in Dushanbe, I will stay in this place again.

This hotel was not a bad option given that it was one of the cheapest we found in Dushanbe. The location was central (just off Ayni Avenue, and within walking distance of Rudaki Avenue). Wifi was good and the hotel was quiet. The hotel owner was helpful and hospitable.

The hotel is in a residential new building, occupies the 17th floor. There is no breakfast, but it is not necessary. The rooms are excellent and new. There is no gorgeous view from the window in the rooms that face the courtyard. For its price is an excellent choice.

I booked a room for my mom. It's been her second stay at 'Serena Dushanbe' since last year. We visited her there, of course. A great hotel, a spacious and cosy room, a wonderful staff and amazing location. Hope to be able to book a room next year.
