Our room was comfortable and quiet with a nice view over the valley to the mountains. The decor features lots of timber. The staff spoke a little English, but were very helpful. Dinner was inexpensive and good and there was a large Chinese style breakfast buffet. Parking was easy and it was only a short walk to the entrance of the nature reserve. This reserve has lots of easy walking trails through magnificent forest.
Dafong Hotel is just a 10-minute walk from Alishan Railway Station, where restaurants serving traditional Taiwanese delights reside. It also offers free WiFi access and private parking.

Good location, close to restaurants, the train station, and 7-11. Clean hotel. Comfortable bed. Stayed in low season so did not have noise issues. Breakfast vouchers given out daily at the front desk for a good traditional Taiwanese breakfast at a nearby restaurant.
