We have been treated so well, above and beyond our expectations. Owners are genuinely kind, caring and helpful, and if we would go back to Zanzibar, we would again stay there!

Amazing authentic african ‘hotel’ with super atmosphere!
The owner says himself it’s not a hotel, but a home. And it’s easy to see why. This place is a warm community with great facilities and nature hand in hand. The atmosphere and the staff make sure you feel at home and they’ll help you with whatever you would need.
Me and my friends had a wonderful time in this beatiful home and we hope to return sometime soon!

I really loved my bungalow, it was cozy and comfortable. The room was small, but it had everything I needed.
I was sleeping with the sound of waves, what was just wonderful.
It has a nice porch with a small couch to relax on rainy days.
Breakfast was delicious with many options. The meals were also delicious, but expensive for Zanzibar (but that is common in touristic hotels).
And I just loved the location!!!
Directly at the beach, everything on sand, i didn't wear my shoes for the whole time. There is a lot of space to hang around and relax, they have hammocks and couches and sunbeds....
I really liked that you have that space - unlike at other places where they build as much bungalows as possible to earn more money.
I guess at high season it might be a bit busy but at low season it was absolutely quiet and wonderful.
When I was there, swimming was fantastic with deep water, but thats depending on the tides, so it can also be bad there .
I really recommend that place and would always come back.

Helwas is an absolute paradise. The entire ambience of the accommodation is beautifully laid out in the interplay between wonderful plants and white sand, with the Indian Ocean right in front of the door.
The rooms are spacious, very clean and lovingly decorated. The use of natural materials (throughout the entire area) is particularly impressive. The food is excellent and the cozy atmosphere - especially at evenings with some local live music - clearly stands out from the very touristy centers.
The owners are very welcoming and helpful! All organizational questions (excursions, etc.) were clarified immediately. The personal exchange and interaction with one another exudes a particularly friendly atmosphere. As also the entire staff does who are very warm and accommodating.
We felt comfortable being there the whole time! I can definitely recommend this place!

Bwejuu is set on a beautiful beach north of Paje. There’s a lot to do in the area (caves, forests , spice farms, Rock restaurant) and lots of bars and restaurants however you’ll need transportation to access them.
We travelled around the entire island in an hire car which I would highly recommend, was great fun and easy to find our way around. I would say this area is more dirty and littered which is a shame as the rest of the country is really well kept.

We were a family of 10 people.
We were a family of 10 people. I did not expect to walk in sand all over the place. The foliage kept it a little cooler. The pool was fine and clean. I did not expect no air conditioning and trying to stay cool with a standing room fan.
Food was Ok - nothing special. The drive from the airport after dark was dangerous. The walk to the beach was short. A few restaurants were open down the beach.
We moved to another resort just down the street after one night and had clean rooms, air conditioning, on the beach, great meals. We kept our keys because they said we could not get a refund for the 2nd and 3rd nights we had reserved. They said we could come back and use the pool but did rent out our rooms from the 2nd & 3rd nights.
It was more like a hostel but was not advertised well on Booking.com

Bwejuu is a small village with two shops where you can buy groceries and cosmetics. There is public transport there. In the vicinity is bigger village of Paje where there are more restaurants and shops.
The beach is absolutely beautiful - white sand, wide a very long (excellent for walks and looking for shells), few people there.
The best restaurants are Shanti café and Sahari.
You can hire kite board there and teacher for kite boarding.
8 km from Bwejuu is beautiful place where you can watch sunset and enjoy big bar with excellent drinks and good music for dancing.

Bwejuu has a great beach.
Bwejuu has a great beach. It is relatively quiet with only a few people working the beach to sell tours etc. We met some friendly locals and joined in some birthday celebrations, which was fun.
Best be aware that there is a big tide so you can’t swim all the time. When the tide is in, the water is shallow and very warm.
In the evenings there is a warm breeze that is refreshing and keeps the mosquitoes away.

Bwejuu area is very disappointing.
Bwejuu area is very disappointing. It has a beach that cannot be enjoyed, far from everywhere, much more expensive than Nungwi and much lower quality. It is a complete mess. I don’t understand why Paje and Bwejuu area are so famous
Everything was great! Better than expected.
* a lot of personal touch/attention from owners. they are friendly, share their own cooked food with you and even invite you to a party together
* nice and clean pool, with sun loungers and pool towels
* room is cleaned daily, towel changed etc
* A/C working great
* small fridge in the room
* relatively good wifi
* bedside lamps
* ability to rent motorbike
* a restaurant within hotel premises. You're especially lucky if one of the owners (Alex) cooks for you!
Exceeded all of my expectations. A stunning little hotel, peaceful and right on the beach front. A delicious free breakfast, and a delicious menu for lunch and dinner. The staff were wonderful and so friendly, Pia and Hasim were amazing hosts who make you feel like family. One day they organised a free boat trip from the beach in front of the hotel! I also wanted to visit the Blue Lagoon and Pia helped me arrange this with a family who were also staying here. Simply wonderful, the best 4 days ever.
- the ambience and decoration of the hotel
- the incredible staff and their organization, attention for details and efficiency to answer your needs, all the time. This made our stay special.
- the facilities and activities available at the hotel (water sport, tennis, soccer, basket, pétanque, reef walk, spice tour and Zanzibar city)
- The quality and variety of the food served (breakfast lunch and dinner), specially dinners with theme nights, sit menu, rarely ate so well at a resort !
Great recently renovated resort right next to Bwejuu beach, one if not the finest of the whole island with white sand and turquoise water. Staff was friendly and could check us in at 4 am without any hassle. The room was spacious and clean, with daily cleaning service and 1L of complimentary bottled water each day. We were in the farthest room from the ocean and yet we could still enjoy an excellent view from the balcony. Breakfast (7.30-10.30) did not have much variety but was tasty.
A really nice hotel in Zanzibar in a quiet area, perfect for relaxation. The hotel itself is beautiful, the staff are really nice and friendly. The restaurant at the hotel is surprisingly Greta wihr homemade gnocchi and nice pizza. They have a very long menu, which provides variation for if you want to eat there every day. We really enjoyed ourselves and could leave nice and relaxed. We even tried the massages, which were enjoyable. Can recommend.
The staff (especially the bar manager and receptionist) were extremely kind and welcoming. The breakfast options are great and the restaurant itself has tasty food for lunch and dinner. Rooms are clean and very spacious. Beach is merely a 2 min walk from the entrance to the hotel. Also very convenient that they have a generator since the island suffers from many power outages.
Absolutely amazing stay at apartment in Bwejuu, Zanzibar! The food at the restaurant was exceptional, the breathtaking views from the apartment were truly memorable, and having the beach so close was a dream. The cleanliness was top-notch, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. A definite 5-star experience all around!
Beautiful beachfront location in a quiet area. Good food. Relaxed atmosphere. Most of the staff were very helpful, when you could get their attention away from their phones! All staff were friendly and easy to chat to. Small hotel. Not expensive.
The pool is a lifesaver if the tide is out! Small but clean and not crowded.
The hotel landscape is so peaceful .the food, especially their seafood pizza , fried calamari and grilled octopus soooo good. Manager and staff are very friendly . We enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel during the day and night. You have long beach to walk till Paje and Jambiani.
Great beach hotel and restaurant. What makes this location special are the owners and the staff. They are all so kind and ready to help you. The food is great, fresh and tasty, there's no need to search in other places. Overall a great experience!
Very kind hosts and staff who made us feel at home.
Small scale hotel with only a few rooms.
Great cuisine from the French/Italian owner duo.
Amazing and quiet location right on the beach in Bwejuu and only a short walk from busy Paje.
Outstanding staffs and facilities. Beautiful pool and private beach. Very good and big house, with great minibar and washing facilities. Massage in sister hotel also great. Dinner full of surprise.
TThis place is a gem next to Bwejuu Beach. The rooms are clean and comfortable. You have everything you need. You can take a motorcycle taxi to get to Paje town and the beach is three minutes away.
A perfect rustic setting on the beach. Our airconned bungalow was great for 2 adults 2 children. The swimming pool was warm and the restaurant just set back from the beach.
Exactly as described. Lovely little beach bungalows in a quiet area of Bwejuu. Bungalows are nice and clean, restaurant is good and vibe and beach are lovely.
