Stonetown could be very crowded and you will have the locals trying to sell things, to be your guide, to take you on tours but apart of all this hassle is a really nece and safe place to visit. You will be in contact with locals, with their culture and you will be able to bargain the prices. We went to Lukmaan restaurant, is a buffet you eat very well and is cheap. You can choose between octopus, fish, meat, rice, vegetables etc everything that you can imagine. For the bar I will suggest Tatu, is a bar with 3 floors with a really nice view to the sea and the beers was cheap 5000tz and is near sunset bar African house hotel you can't miss it.

    I love Stone Town.

I love Stone Town. I have been to Zanzibar 3 times in total, and I could never miss the opportunity of staying at least 3 full days in Stone Town during each visit. A UNESCO cultural heritage site with charming alleyways, with its traditional type doors and friendly children and locals. With each visit new things to discover. A most recent find was a local Lukmaan Restaurant.

    Briliant place.

Briliant place. Forodhani gardens is wonderful and the night food market excellent. I felt safe all hours of the day, walking around is lovely. Please make sure to visit prison island and go on a spice farm tour! Each takes around two to three hours and this includes transport time.
