We spent only a day to run around Truskavets and Drohobych.
We spent only a day to run around Truskavets and Drohobych. It was fun and interesting. We enjoyed driving up into Skidnytsa and visiting sites in the Carpathians. This was an easy drive and we used a rental car we got in Lviv from Budget rent a car. The war has no significant impact on these areas and they are very safe in 2023. I will include a picture of St. George Church in Drohobych which was interesting and a UNESCO world heritage site.

Truskavets is a museum under the open sky. Each house, street is unique. Many trees, plants, flowers. A large park made of the original forest part. Mineral water pump room with 4 types of water - definitely try it.

Visiting this town every year for the last 4 years and hope to do it more. Perfect place for the SPA holiday (drinking special mineral water Naftusya), nice Ukrainian food, fresh air and in general very nice place.

I the past this spa resort has seen better days for sure, but it is quickly regaining it`s power. Very good value for your money and highly recommended for a little adventurous traveler. It is a sort of health and SPA „las vegas“ of Ukraine.

If you want to see a Soviet-style spa town, you have to go to Truskavec. It has all the modern amenities, restaurants, hotels etc., but also some old-style socialist hotels (which have some special shabby chic) and most impressive thing - "mineral water buffet" - a large , long and narrow pavillion building, resembling train station, with dozens of pipes from where you can get very healthy mineral water to drink. Two sorts of water - one smells like petrol, the other like rusty nails with rotten eggs. But they are really good for your health. Really cool town for one-day stop, or at least couple of hours.

I liked this place because it is not in the noisy center of the city, it takes 10-15 minutes walking to get to it. City park is nearby as well. The room is very clean, having large bathroom. The hotel was empty and dimly lit, powered by generators, while the adjacent medical centre was without electricity for much of the day because of outages caused by strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Yet everything functioned smoothly, all services were provided and the buffet dinners in the restaurant on the first floor were so delicious, diverse and elegantly served they will forever top my personal list of the best hotel meals.

The administrator is so kind that I felt like she was my relative ;-) My room was on the 2nd floor right under the roof. It had 2 beds and one sofa. Space is more than enough. You'll have clean linen and a big towel. The kitchen has a refrigerator, a microwave, an electric teapot, a gas stove. You can sit on the large balcony: drink, eat, work there.
