The food was nice except for the soup which costs far too much for what you get and it’s really salty.

A wonderful place with an excellent price-performance ratio. Cylia and her colleague provided some of the best and friendliest service I have ever had and dinner was also great. From the terrace you will have a beautiful view in the morning, the drive to the gorilla trekking site takes about 10 minutes. The basic room I stayed in was clean, had 24h electricity, Wi-Fi (even if you don't need it - there is very good mobile internet in the area) and everything else you may need (including intact mosquito nets). I felt very comfortable here.

This place is a wild frontier type town - strikes you that it might need a good sheriff as you travel through. But actually when i got down on the street and walked around, the people are very friendly and obliging - particularly businesses/shops. You will be a bit of a novelty though as not many westerners wander around so far. I planned to stay for a night and ended up staying a week - lots of interesting parts to check out. Capricorn Hotel in the main street for hustle and bustle- White Horse up on the hill for beautiful lawns - stay in both if you can :)
