Sadie when were 1st arrived was very cheery and helpful, we asked for a quiet room at the back of the hotel which was provided. Grounds of the hotel were beautifully maintained with a nice restaurant that served good food and bar in the hotel complex (good karaoke night). We requested a quiet room (which it was on our 1st night) the 2nd night we had a noisy couple who argued, swore and generally shouted at each other all night… not the hotels fault but with the amount of rooms in the complex I’m not sure why if someone asks specifically for a quiet room they then proceed to place someone next to you. The room could have done with a fresh cost of paint and it looked a little tired. Bed and bedding were comfortable and clean (pillows were a little firm so not as comfortable but I prefer softer pillows). Towels appeared good quality and clean and replaced daily. Free secure car park. Pool area nice… a little busy on the Saturday.

Sehr sauber, gut ausgestattet, freundliches Personal
The river park was very pretty. We went on a Kern river festival day ( Not like a UK festival so don’t expect much) people were friendly! Lots of big shopping complexes. Some food joints in the area we stayed but to get a decent meal you would need to drive. We were just passing through so didn’t get a chance to see any of the nature reserve that was close by.

Bakersfield is a good stopping off point enroute to somewhere else - not too far from the southern Sierras or Los Angeles - but there is literally nothing to do *in* Bakersfield unless one is a country music history fan, and it suffers from terrible air pollution and punishing heat much of the year.

Never choose these lodgings again.
Never choose these lodgings again. Hope is greater than expectations. I had hoped I would fine a joyous birthday. I was meet with disaster. I ordered a steak that was sinewy and grissle. Seasoned as an amateur and grilled like a novice. As a chef I resiant this worthless attempt at making and offering a presentable meal. Same on his/her talents. shame for letting the quality of your brand fall low. I am only one but one that is never more.

Sometimes the cheap hotels in this area are roach infested...
Sometimes the cheap hotels in this area are roach infested or have a bunch of loiters. The rain kept the loiters away and I didn't find a single roach so this was a fortunate departure from my normal AirBNB choice; which was booked for my stay.
I needed to split in two a 14-hour drive from Phoenix, AZ, to Santa Rosa, CA. There are precious few options, and Bakersfield seemed likely. This hotel was reasonable, near center of town, and offered free parking and breakfast. The facility is older, but my room was clean and had a mini-fridge and microwave. All staff were friendly and helpful. Not the best part of town, but I noticed several construction worker guests and their trucks there, which was reassuring. They aren't going to stay/park where their equipment will be stolen.
My husband and I were in Bakersfield to attend a wedding. Other family members were also staying at the Marriott. The room was spacious and comfortable. We were on the ground floor and had a large lanai which look out on the courtyard. We didn't eat at the bistro but the menu looked good. There are a few places to eat in the area plus a Costco across the street which we utilized for gasoline and wine. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Parking was free.
Overall, really liked this place. They had a pool & hot tub, that was open till 10pm. That was really nice. It was interesting in that there were 2 ways to get in your room... through the inside of the hotel, as well as the outside. And you had to enter thru the inside, before being able to access the outside door.
Bathroom was nice tho. The beds were comfortable. Pretty sure the wifi & TV worked great. Really didn't have many issues, that I recall.
We just had travelled from Northern California to Rhode Island and back and this place was by far the best hotel for the price that we stayed at during the whole 2 week trip. It was so comfortable, breakfast was great and the pool was the cherry on the cake! So nice, staff was amazing, the room was clean and no funny smells. The neighborhood also seemed pretty safe. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling through
Bakersfield was where we ended up after a long day of driving so, we looked for a place that was off the main roads/noise and near some restaurants, which this was. We booked a room with 2 Queen beds which were very comfortable. The shower was good - there was plenty of shampoo, conditioner and soap in containers on the wall. Liked having the shower and toilet in a separate room from the sink.
The room was clean, roomy and nice. Bathroom is amazing.! I love the shower.!
The breakfast was good, besides the oven toaster not seeming to toast bread well, maybe I just didn't use it right.?
Front desk was very friendly.! Check in was easy and finding parking was easy as well. Will definitely stay if I ever need another hotel room in Bakersfield.!
The location of the Padre Hotel was a selling point for our trip to see Zach Bryan at the Mechanics Bank Arena. We were able to walk to the concert from the hotel and felt very safe walking back home at night after the concert. The hotel staff was extremely helpful when we lost our room key and were able to help us with a smile on their face.
This is a well maintained hotel, stylish at this price point. The room features; bed, tv, furniture - all of it was in top condition. The room and bathroom was very clean. At about $60 I felt is was very good value. I will stay here again. Also, its right at the big crossroads for me. Well located.
quiet, clean and nice space to spend a night in Bakersfield! We especially appreciated the table and chairs to lounge in. Room was equipped with a fridge and microwave, the bed was comfy and the room spacious.
There is an elevator so you don't have to carry your luggage upstairs
We just spent the one night in Bakersfield on our way to Sequoia National Park. I have a cousin that lives in Bakersfield. He recommended the hotel and we met him for dinner at a place right across the street. It was a lovely interlude on our extended road trip.
We loved everything about this property, really quirky, beautifully decorated space, we loved the feel of this place, very roomy.
Good retro vibe.
One of the best places I’ve stayed.
The hosts were really kind, Great hospitality.
Everything we needed and more.
The room was extremely clean, bed was comfortable, the breakfast wasn’t the greatest but you can’t ever really expect much from any hotel breakfast. Overall great stay in a great location and we will be returning (:
It was very convenient and pleasant to stay at Home2 Suites in Bakersfield. The room was equiped with everything the traveler could possibly need and was clean. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was nice.
Horrible place to stay at. Front desk person rude. Outside halls smelled like fish. Never been at a hotel that didn't offer a hair dryer. Room also smelled.
The hotel was easy to find, the staff were super helpful on check in even though it was late. Our room was spacious and clean, and very reasonably priced
