Great coffee shop in town, I think it was called Brewed Awakening, excellent coffee, food, and atmosphere. I had the fruity waffles which were super yummy!
Big Pine is a great launching pad for the Ancient Bristlecone Pine forest, 4,000 year old trees just off the first exit off of 395 north!

Lots of pine trees and old homes.
Lots of pine trees and old homes. Mountain Views Galore and amazing views of the Ancient Bristlecone Forest. Friendly people, lots of wildlife, and many roller coaster-like winding roadways especially route 168 which you have to journey through!
Super clean room that has had a bit of a modern refresh.
Was going to arrive late in the small town so I called ahead from Bishop, to check with innkeeper if I’d be able to find dinner near his property. He considerately insisted that I do not rush to get to him, but that I find a nice dinner before arriving in Big Pine. Not a “hurry and get here because I’m closing up” and I sure appreciated it.
Thank you PJ.
This is the second time we stayed at this motel. Good value for money, the guy at the front desk, was very polite and helpful. Really like this place over others because they're dog friendly and there is no extra charge (tired of being fleeced by other hotels for traveling with a dog). Will def stay again should we return to the Big Pine area. The washroom is rather huge so that's a plus too.
The room was the cleanest and comfiest motel room I’ve ever stayed in! I was pleasantly surprised at how cozy it was. Most motels gross me out a little bit, but not this place! It was simple but super clean, I even didn’t mind walking barefoot on the carpet (something I almost never do). I wish more motels were this comfortable!
A very good value for the stay of us, five ladies the night before and the day after our hike at Big Pine Lakes! The kitchen and dining area are a big surprise and served us for what we need! we will stay here again and will recommend this good place to stay!!
