It is a beautiful old mansion and something different from a regular chain hotel. Staff were incredible - helpful and courteous. The breakfast was delicious. We were a 10 minute drive from downtown and would recommend. The hotel has recently been purchased and we learned about the history and while there are some small things that look a bit tired, there was no impact on our wonderful stay - I would definitely stay again!

Buffalo is definitely a formerly prosperous city with amazing old architecture and parks. We were there in mid-April so the weather was on the verge of Spring but still chilly. It had some quality museums and it was fun driving around the old industrial areas which they are trying to clean up and take advantage of the ols structures. The food scene is probably okay at night but they are still suffering from the pandemic as far as the lunch/brunch scene, at least as far as we could find. Water was all around as it is on Lake Erie and I know the summer it is probably busy with sailing and boating, etc. We were just too early. There were numerous empty marinas waiting for summer.

Buffalo is rich in history and architecture.
Buffalo is rich in history and architecture. The eating places downtown rival any that I have dined in all over the world. The reason for my visit was twofold. My friend and I spent a day at the Albright Knox Art museum. Like the cuisine, the gallery rivals many that I have visited. It was not so large though, that you could not do it justice in one day.
The shopping on day two at Walden Galleria gave us such delight! It was full of bargains.
Buffalo has something for everyone.

Do not miss the Frank Lloyd Wright house or the AKG (Albright Know Gallery art museum) or, of course, Niagara Falls. Walk around...beautiful neighborhoods of well kept large old homes and funky shops everywhere. Appealing shops, excellent restaurants, and affordable!

Buffalo has so much to offer.
Buffalo has so much to offer. From the waterfront with great restaurants, boat charters, and kayaking and canoeing, to the beautiful architecture and interesting museums, the whole city feels alive with wonder and intrigue. It has a little bit of everything - if you want to feel small amidst skyscrapers and disappear into the crowd at a show, downtown is your spot. If you want to escape to the country for a stroll through the woods or gallop across sprawling fields, head to East Aurora or Newfane. There is shopping everywhere - great unique boutiques with special one-of-a-kind treasures, high-end department stores with all the new stuff, restaurants with five-star offerings from around the world. Buffalo is definitely a world-class destination with hometown charm. Diverse and alive with life and opportunity, this All America City is definitely one to visit if you're looking for a special place.

We visited the Buffalo Zoo, which is the third oldest zoo in the country. It was under renovation but it was nice, small compared to other zoos I've been to. I loved that it was in an old neighborhood and easy to access. Lots of places to shop and great wings, pizza and craft beers. Of course if you are close to Buffalo you have to pop over to Niagara Falls which is always beautiful to see and a short 30 minute drive.

The location was great.
The location was great. Took us no longer than 20+ minutes to get anywhere. Lots of walkable restaurants. However, the beds were not queen size, they were maybe twin or double. Also the pool and hot tub areas were down when we went to use them. I'm not a fan of having to pay $15 a night just to park my car. Shouldn't that be part of the stay? $220 to stay in a room with small beds and no pool/hot tub and then more money to park. Nah, not right. We went to the Bills stadium. Casinos, put put, Niagara falls and wax museum.
I was in town to celebrate St. Joseph's Day, a traditional Sicilian holiday. It seemed appropriate to stay in a hotel that embraced Italian culture. My room was large, as was the king size bed, and it came with a large jacuzzi bath (which I did not use). I was given a coupon for the hotel cafe, and I enjoyed a nice cappuccino and yogurt parfait for free. The young man at the front desk was helpful, friendly and accommodating. The hotel was convenient to the airport, restaurants, and the highway.
The owner has done an exceptional job of turning this property into a beautiful B&B from the hands-on restoration work (which seems to have taken many years and lots of hard work) to the selection of period-appropriate furniture (based on the year in which the house was built, 1885). She is a wonderful cook, a great host, and a talented artist. She should get an accolade for being a significant contributor to the revival of downtown Buffalo.
The hotel is located 4 mins away from the Buffalo Airport. So it’s super convenient. It is also very beautiful, luxurious, and affordable. There is a spa within the hotel, we didn’t get to try it out but it’s nice to know we could’ve. There was also a restaurant within the hotel so that’s also super convenient. The bathroom has the rain shower head! The best shower I’ve ever had. The bed was massive and comfy. I really liked it all.
Great location downtown. The 1 bedroom suites are pretty roomy. The bed was really comfortable and my window view was of the city. love that it has a restaurant downstairs and you get a percentage off if you use your key card. The bars/clubs are right down the street from the hotel. The location is very clean and you seem safe in this particular area. It’s not a crowded city so the traffic isn’t bad at all, relatively calm.
We had the unfortunate experience of being caught in the US when all the borders were closed. Luckily we got a room here to wait it out. In the early morning someone thought it would be funny to call in a mass shooting report and they sent a swat team. Thankfully we did get to go home that day. The hotel staff were very compassionate and understanding. Very helpful in an unpleasant situation
We booked a suite at the hotel, and asked on booking.com for room 209, unfortunately, it doesn’t appear our request made it through… So the first night we stayed in a very small, almost claustrophobic like suite. However, after talking with the front desk, the next day, they moved us to another room with an outside window, and was much better and much larger, So thanks to them for that.
They had their own parking lot, unlike many hotels in the downtown area. The hotel was very clean and had all the modern, updated amenities: kitchenette with stainless steel appliances; beautiful bathroom and shower with excellent ventilation. Big window with mechanical (with remote!) drapery. This will be our go-to hotel for Buffalo.
Has an old historic hotel vibe and it's in a great location in downtown Buffalo. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms have been updated and they are clean and cozy. They have a large parking lot and a nice restaurant on the ground floor. We were very happy with our stay at The Lenox
Everyone enjoyed their stay. The place was exactly as advertised, excellent value and close proximity to downtown. A very easy commute for the Sabres game, House was clean, and in a nice quiet neighborhood. Would recommend to others, and stay again.
Thank you, Chuck.
Wonderful hotel in great location. Plenty of restaurants nearby, room is very comfortable, and beds are superb. Quiet area. Fantastic TV with selections from Hulu, Youtube TV Live, Prime, and Netflix...amazing! We will definitely book here again.
Lovely traditional hotel, beautiful decorated for the festive season.
Free shuttle from airport and to airport, which was also the transportation station so we could get a bus to Niagara Falls.
Desk staff were extremely helpful and kind.
location was a quick drive downtown to baseball stadium. king bed was comfy. clean room with downtown view. older building but good stuff. staff were helpfull and pleasant.. lots of parking.. quiet area. 24 hour drug store next door..
Location was good for what we wanted to do while visiting Buffalo. Easy drive to downtown and restaurants. Also liked the self check-in process....easy instructions sent prior to the visit about access and parking.
Historic building. Quite rooms despite the vast size of the hotel. Beautiful grounds. Friendly staff. Calm environment. Beautiful lake nearby. Nice restaurants, bars and sweets shop within easy walk.
room was clean, staff is nice
the hotel provides you with the shuttle to get you where you need in Buffalo. I did not use the valet service but they do have it, so no problem with parking a car
