I gave it a 10, because some like me, appreciate the age and history of a property and some quirkiness. Everything was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Will be back.
This is difficult. So many pros and cons combined.
This is difficult. So many pros and cons combined. I'll definitely go again. If I had kids along who wanted to use the pool, no. There really weren't any apologies either? The restaurant plain isn't open outside Friday and Saturday nights, and Saturday and Sunday breakfast. We did find other places but not in Carrollton, they do have a nice Mexican restaurant with outdoor seating and fast food. We did have a free breakfast with our room on Sunday, buffet. Food wasn't very good but it wasn't awful either. Then, the restaurant is lovely setting, and the staff was wonderful. I recommend Lawson's in Campbellsburg for all meals at a reasonable price. Closed Sundays and holidays. It's a really pretty ride into Campbellsburg, casual dining, so if you've been hiking or fishing, no worries. 15 minutes down 71. Fantastic all homemade Southern cuisine. The pies are amazing, and you can get one to go, homemade. Then, there are grills at the park. And it's amazing to sit outside there. The grocery store is nearby. Ideal for picnicking with a family. Bring a cooler.

My sister and I took our combined 5 grandkids for an overnight stay. They loved the pool and stayed there almost the entire first day. The peddle boats were very reasonably priced and clean. The miniature golf was also a lot of fun and very reasonably priced. The lodge was clean, well maintained, and plenty roomy. We will definitely be back with the kids again in the future.

We were there for the NASCAR race a few miles away.
We were there for the NASCAR race a few miles away. The city is close to river activities and tri-State accessibility but not many other things to do.
Mi Viejo Mexican Restaurant was very good!
The General Butler State Resort and Park is worth visiting.
Good location.
Facility was very clean.
Breakfast was good.
Would definitely stay there again when in that area.
We didn't have pets with us, but glad to see they were pet friendly and did see several fur babies during our stay, even had a fur baby snack jar at the check in desk!
Glad to see hardwood floors in the rooms instead of carpet. You never know what has been on or in carpet during hotel stays.
Nostalgic hotel in a beautiful state park setting. The room was rustic and nostalgic in design yet well equipped and exceptionally clean. The balcony had a beautiful view of the pool and woods. They had the best hotel breakfast that I've ever had, the potatoes were delicious!
This was a no nonsense hotel, but comfortable and generously sized. Plenty of parking space. The person at check-in was friendly and helpful. A good choice of restaurants around the hotel. There was sufficient choice for breakfast. All in all a good stay.
The location was excellent. Where it was far away from the hustle and bustle, yet had plenty of imenities near by IF you needed them. Staff was very welcoming and friendly! Enjoyed Carrollton shopping and the local restaurants, too.
The location was a bit confusing because it is among several other hotels that share a “BACK-LOT “ type of setting and poor signage to identify
