The Hawthorne, hotel in Chatham

This motel in Chatham, Massachusetts offers access to a private beach area with a fire pit and is 7 minutes’ walk from shopping and dining by the town centre. Free Wi-Fi is accessible.

The Hawthorne was recommended to us by a couple we met the previous evening. The views are amazing with a direct view over the beach to the ocean. The rooms are a good size with large beds. The location is perfect for a short walk into Chatham where there are plenty of nice bars, restaurants and shops. Parking is plentiful and great to leave the car whilst one walks into town. The short walk to the fishing pier is well worth the effort as there's lots of seals to see.

We have visited chatham at least 20 times over the years and it has become a home away from home- traditional New England town, lovely beaches restaurants, charming downtown - we like morning walks on the beach, seal watching at the pier (don't miss lobster rolls), searching for shells on Hardings beach, summer baseball games, and of course the Friday band concert! See you next year!

Chatham is pretty and friendly waterfront Cape Cod town.

Chatham is pretty and friendly waterfront Cape Cod town. It is monstrously overcrowded in August. No parking, tough to get into restaurants, too much traffic. Too much sizzle not enough steak. Go off season. Beaches are “protected” by coastal barrier beaches, basically meaning NOT oceanfront in most places.

One of the prettiest towns in Cape Cod. It has a very nice downtown with beautiful stores and some of the best restaurants in the region. The beaches are great, at Chatham Lighthouse nearby beach, we had a chance to see the seals, who come there from Atlantic to rest.

we were welcomed by friendly, helpful staff, The front of our building was adorned with a beautiful flower garden. The room was tastefully decorated and comfortably appointed, and quiet The bed was very comfortable, the shower spacious and excellent. The price was reasonable. Although we are an elderly couple traveling alone, we enjoyed watching children, who were also guests at the motel; enjoying themselves playing on the swings and spacious grounds. We will return and highly recommend the Chatham Motel.

The gardens were lush and gorgeous and hid some secret amenities: shuffleboard, ping pong. Hot tub / whirlpool was large enough for 2 families. Plenty of lounge chairs and tables in pool area. Bedrooms were large and mattresses were comfortable. Best of all: it had the old Cape Cod feel- the staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was relaxed.

We stayed for one night. The location was excellent for quick access to downtown Chatham and nearby beaches, the former probably walking distance for some. The room was a good size, very clean and with comfortable beds. Having a mini refrigerator and microwave were a plus. Coffee provided was surprisingly good.

We loved it! The breakfast was served as opposed to a buffet, it was freshly made, beautifully served. The home baked cookies every evening and port & sherry in the library were a lovely touch! Beautiful boutique hotel with gorgeous grounds. Friendly and polite staff.
