Well I was hoping for more time for personal use, but the time I did have with a nice gentleman I met went quite well. We had an oral debate about several issues., with which I love to swallow all the knowledge possible. It was quite enjoyable. I hope to be back soon!

Chico is a fabulous little town.
Chico is a fabulous little town. So out of the way that it still retains lots of charm, Mom's for breakfast is fabulous. A walk through Bidwell Park is a great way to see something that is truly unique...a natural swimming pool with river in and out

The downtown area, right by the State University is kind of hit and miss, many businesses are either open for short hours or not at all, many store fronts were in transition, some well established businesses but the City is still going through some significant economic challenges.
The homeless situation is not getting any better, the fact they are hanging out and using public parks is not ideal, it is a safety issue for both visitors and students, something the City needs to take into their hands more seriously.
There is plenty of land around the City to plan for some type of facilities for the homeless, so the downtown can come back to thriving and be a safe and clean place to do business and visit.
Most cities are dealing with the same issue, it's a National issue.
Some good places for drinks and food, of course, being a college town, lots of good value.

I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel.
I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel. I was told by the desk clerk that I had a very quiet room but I was awakened several times throughout the night due to excessive noise both from above me and in the parking lot.
Cars playing loud music with heavy bass frequented the lot all night long! The room above me sounded like a workout gym!
The people next door tried to open the common door between the rooms twice. Fortunately, I kept my side secured!
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a quiet room for the evening.
Also, the "types" hanging out in the area looked a bit shady. I looked up the crime stats of the area and they were very high with assaults and muggings being the most along with occasional nearby murders.
Finding another spot to stay is my advice!

Chico is a fine place we have family there but the hotel was a real disappointment after driving for 31/2 hrs and just wanted to rest we had to try and find another place for our family. Even the drapes I’n the room had holes all over them like bugs had eaten them or something.

Chico is well known for its parks and walkable areas.
Chico is well known for its parks and walkable areas. Many stores in several different areas for shopping: world market, barnes & noble, cost co. Shopping malls and many big box stores. Good variety of restaurants. Chico has a several one way roads. Weather can be extremely hot and dry.
DO NOT GO HERE! The place is filthy! The flooring was coming off in the room. Dirty sheets and mattresses. People drinking and smoking outside your room. Bad maintenance. The room was dirty and it smelled horrible. The living conditions did not seem safe so we left the hotel 2 mins after check-in. It felt so unsafe that we just got out and drove away from the property. It seemed more like a homeless shelter than a place for travelers to stay.
A home as an opposed to a hotel room. Way more comfortable for me and my daughter, especially having our own rooms, she is 22! And I especially enjoy the home feel as a differential feel to a hotel, which we were able to get for a price less than a hotel room. When I come in to town to see my family I will absolutely look up this place to stay, weather alone or with any of my family members! Which this home would accommodate!
The room was quite clean and an open space design. I liked the fact it came with laundry and wi-fi (although I couldn't use either due to unforeseen circumstances). My trip was during a storm, so unfortunate timing. There were clean dishes ready, trash bags and two separate bins for recycling and trash (with a helpful recycling guide on the fridge alongside the Wi-Fi password), Ice cube trays in the freezer.
The beds were comfortable, loved the pillows.
The house has a big kitchen, dining area, and living room. Despite being close to the freeway, we didn't hear much noise from it, just from the thoroughfare street in front of the house.
The couch is comfy.
The Wifi was good, the TV came with at least one streaming service, and other streaming apps were loaded.
Easy to get to downtown Chico by car.
The hotel is really new and this shows. Beds comfortable, quiet and spacy room. Staff was really nice, we felt very welcome. Location is near 99 and a mall. We didn't visit downtown, which is some minutes drive away. However, you can walk in 15 to 20mins to Sierra Nevada Brewings Restaurant on the other side of the 99.
Room very comfortable and clean. Overall property and facilities very dated and unimpressive, needs updating. Staff is very friendly. But you can hear from your room staff pushing carts and making noise throughout the night and morning. Investment in quiet rolling carts would be a good idea. Hallways very acoustic.
I got a smoking room I expected it to smell like cigarettes but the smell was so strong and bad I had to personally buy 2 big cans of fresh spray and keep the window open the whole time I stayed all weekend and take all my belongings to a laundry mat before goin hime other than the smell the bed was comfy
I liked that all the staff was professional, caring and happy! The free breakfast was a great way to start the day. Our room and the decor of the hotel was great. The air unit, microwave, tv, refrigerator and hair dryer worked as they should. We had a wonderful stay at Super 8 Chico!
This hotel was very comfortable and attentive to the details for a good night's rest. The hotel is located close to restaurants and shopping, we walked. We stayed one night and I would definitely return the next time I am visiting Chico.
My main beef is NONE of the ice machines were working! The sink drain was stuck closed and the toilet clogged the first day. The staff, especially, Matt water wonderful. Room was clean. Great location for a Chico State move in.
Place is really dirty so is the towels. We went out bought our own bedding & towels, used our own pillows aswell, cleaned the bathroom and put down our own bathtub mat and floor mats.
The location was great. It was near a lot of stores and restaurants. I like the breakfast in the morning and getting a drink at the bar at night in the hotel bar.
The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and the bed was quite comfortable. The make-up remover in the bathroom was a bonus since I had forgotten mine.
