    Definitely off the beaten path!

Definitely off the beaten path! For a good meal and an overnight, it was good. Visiting the old jail and the miners' town doesn't take very long and there isn't much else to do there. As a way to get an idea of the old West, it was fun.

Chloride has so much character from quirky artwork to the history of the mines. The gift shop next to Yesterday's is small but interesting and they do a really fun tour around the town. The general store is well stocked and the owner's are very friendly and helpful. We loved staying at Sheps Miners Inn and had a very good breakfast at Yesterday's.

The town is old and a mix of new and old, neat and messy. The town people have a gunfight and show for the traveler we didn't see but I'm sure it will become a weekend getaway this summer when it's 120 degrees at home.

A really grand place to pass through, especially on any day other than Sunday. If you go on a Sunday, the only food establishment is Yesterday's restaurant, which has a well executed, albeit limited, menu. Being an older community, almost all the businesses are closed on Sunday, however there is still plenty to do. With a complimentary map, you can find several nearby historic sites, some you can interact with, and some are private property that can be viewed from the outside. If you have a vehicle with high clearance, I absolutely recommend checking out the Murals.
