Darien is a teeny town that is full of history and charm.

Darien is a teeny town that is full of history and charm. It’s not fancy, but very low-key and quaint! It is really like stepping back in time. There are historical attractions, a handful of great little local restaurants (we ate at The Canopy restaurant and we definitely recommend it) as well as a few bars and shops. The river views, the boats, the seafood, the Spanish-moss draped trees, the historic sites and the friendly locals make a stay in Darien so relaxing. A perfect 2 night getaway! It’s not too far off of 1-95, so it’s a great way to break up a long trip coming or going from/to Florida.

Darien is a small town with won derful seafood restaurants. It is close to several beaches and has plenty of water to boat, kayak etc. Beautiful for hiking, etc. It is a few minutes from the ferry to Sapelo island.

I loved that it was a short distance to the Sapelo Island...

I loved that it was a short distance to the Sapelo Island Ferry. That is the main reason I booked this place.Loved the room..Lots of fast food places around as there is only one decent place on the river to eat in the whole town of Darien. Nothing really interesting to do in Darien unless you are a history person as I am...Darien is very small, really not much there.

Zack the owner was wonderful! He is an excellent chef and prepared fabulous breakfasts. Beds were super comfortable. Rooms were clean and inviting. Every restaurant in town had excellent fresh seafood. Everyone we met in Darien was very friendly and wanted your visit to be great. Homemade chocolate store across the street. Excellent! Interesting things to see and do in the area. A lot of history involved here.

The Staff were amazing.. this hotel was clean with the exception of the moldy smell.. They had a beautiful pool area that was closed. The pool water was green and hadn't not been kept up. There were older washer & dryers and other junk stored in this area . The beds were comfortable and clean bedding .. wifi could not be connected Prices were very affordable.

The staff were interactive, joking around (in a professional manner), and displayed manners beyond expected for a hotel. The hotel was also affordable and provided less hidden fees than most hotels I spend the night.
