We requested a room switch upon check in, due to our initial room reeking of stale cigarette smoke. The second room was better and the beds were comfortable. The area is convenient to a coffee shop, gas station, a couple of fast food restaurants. Quick access to 61.

Lots of options clustered in canal park so it's walkable, rich history and Baytown culture. Sun worshipers and leafers beware, the low elevation and Lakeshore means more overcast days and later peak colors than the surrounding areas. Plan accordingly.

I would not visit Duluth again.
I would not visit Duluth again. Although interesting sites available to see. I found Duluth to be congested with traffic. The streets dont make sense. Hard to get to the tourist stops. The city just didn't make any sense how u get into Duluth at the start.

Duluth is a wonderful place to visit.
Duluth is a wonderful place to visit. They have things to do for families, friends, short or long visits. Must visit Canal Park, Lift Bridge, Enger Tower, Miller Mall and Rose Garden. Lots of restaurants, Fitzer, Grandma's and Perkins too. Talking walks along the shore, skipping rocks or just enjoying the fresh air will help you sleep better. The kids will love the water, trains and a visit to Split Rock Lighthouse and Gooseberry Falls.

We enjoyed Canal Park , Glensheen, and eating at Clyde's Iron Works and Grandma's. We drove along the North Shore to Gooseberry Falls and ate at Betty's Pies. Would recommend all of these, but not when the Canadian fire smoke is so dense you can hardly see the lake! Getting around was easy but don't follow Mapquest directions!
The hotel is a renovated old warehouse. This turn on the century all concrete structure is really cool and very quiet. I'm sure the uniqueness of the building made room design a challenge. Our suite had a kitchen, couch and bedroom. The TV in the living are was on the wall 90 degrees from the couch, ad the couch was 1 foot from that wall. The same in the bedroom. Good thing we had things planned in Duluth and didn't watch TV. We had it on for morning news, that was about it. The breakfast is incredible.
The location was perfectly central to Canal Park, which made walking around really easy. The room was very clean, and the Nespresso in room 5 was a very nice amenity. Check-in and check-out was a breeze, which was nice since I was a bit apprehensive about a no-reception check-in as I hadn’t run into that before. Reserved parking was a pleasant bonus too, as parking can be quite limited in that area.
Would highly recommend this place (mainly room 5) for a cozy and romantic getaway.
The hotel was reminiscent of Hot Tub Time Machine, its an old 1980's ski lodge completely renewed. It is in very good shape, the poolhouse is huge and freshly painted and varnished with that old college feel. The rooms are pristine and roomy, and its straight off the highway (Rt35) so very convenient. Up on a hill overlooking Duluth so pleasant. The breakfast is hard boiled eggs, waffle maker and assorted breads and yogurt, so decent.
The location was perfect. We were within walking distance to everything in Canal Park, and the view from our lakeside room was beautiful! The fitness center was really clean, and seemed like it had been updated recently. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they had staff constantly cleaning all areas of the property, so it felt very clean to me.
My first impression was of the front desk check in person Meggan who was so personable and helpful.
The breakfasts were great and Kim never slowed down while helping guests get their food for eat in or taking it to their rooms.
I’ll definitely be returning to this hotel. Quick access to routes into and out of Duluth.
Grandkids loved the pool too.
Located a short distance over the lift bridge in Canal Park, the property is relatively new and the rooms were clean and modern. Lots of parking. The included breakfast had plenty of good choices. The room rate was a great value compared to the other properties in the area. Staff were friendly.
The room was spacious and well designed, we loved the balcony! The bathroom was also spacious and clean and the shower was great! The breakfast was better than other continental options we've had elsewhere. The location of this hotel is fantastic and the staff was so kind and helpful!
There are only two good things about this hotel. 1) It is located within a few minutes of canal park, 2) it has a revolving rooftop restaurant which was kind of cool (but way over priced). Everything else was non satisfactory.
We really loved our accommodation however, we didn't get much time to enjoy it. Next time we will set some time aside to enjoy it. It was rather expensive for just a place to sleep. Our fault, not yours.
Beautiful lakeside room with a view was clean and comfortable! Great location to check out Canal Park area. Staff was all very friendly, professional and accommodating! We will definitely be back!!
