The Beverly, hotel in Essex

The Beverly is situated in Beverly, 7.9 km from The House of the Seven Gables, 32 km from Cambridge College, and 35 km from Freedom Trail.

The Beverly was easy to find and the room was great although a little bit dark due to the small window in the lounge. It was great to be able to open both the windows in the lounge and the bedroom though as I love fresh air to sleep. The team there are great too and so helpful. It was just what I needed to be still for a while.

Just 4.2 km from Good Harbor Beach and Captain Bill & Sons Whale Watch, this hotel offers an indoor pool and tennis courts.

Breakfast was described as fairly basic but we were pleasantly surprised by the variety, albeit all cold items.

Essex is a small town with a causeway with a boat marina along the Essex River. There are many antique stores, several excellent restaurants with a nice variety of menus, a brewery, and a variety of shops with local artisans wares. There is also a Ship Building Museum, Essex River Cruises, kayaking rentals, historic buildings ( the Congregational church has a Paul Revere Bell) and old graveyard. It is a interesting town to visit.

It is a great place for seafood however the restaurants are a bit pricey. There is only about 1 place to get breakfast in Essex but the food is good, eat in or take out and the personnel are friendly.
