I was only there for the NHRA drag racing at the Gainesville track so didn't have time to see anything of Gainesville. But the Red Roof was very convenient for Gainesville Raceway, only 15 miles away so I would definitely return

Getting around Gainesville is very easy.
Getting around Gainesville is very easy. There's lots to do there. We visited the Butterfly Exhibit but did not have enough time to see the Museum of Natural History or the Art Museum. No lack of dining options. We chose to dine at Carabbas and both the service and food didn't disappoint. Lots of places to shop. With the University of Florida located there, it provided for a very youthful environment which we totally enjoyed. This is a town worthy of a visit.

Easy to get around.
Easy to get around. On Archer Rd and around the I75 exit, there was every store/resturant you could imagine. Gainesville is definitely a college town. Shands Hospital is wonderful and very conveniently located.

Loved university of FL! We went for a college tour.
Loved university of FL! We went for a college tour. While our walking tour was cancelled due to rain, the students did an excellent job speaking and telling us about the highlights of the school. We were lucky to have spent time walking around the day before. It’s a beautiful school. Very impressed. Also….Sweet Pete’s candy shop was awesome!! So much fun to walk through a 3 story candy shop! Beautifully decorated for fall/Halloween! Yummy too! 😍

Well Gainesville around UF is very much a college town and a bit run down. Away from the University it had several nice looking neigborhoods but without UF, Gainsville would not have much going for it.
I loved the pillows😃, the staff were very friendly, it was a nice hotel, clean and comfortable, my kids decided not to swim, the pool was a pretty good size, I think it’s location was open to the back parking lot so they felt uncomfortable. It’s not really a hotel for kids , but nice and clean for when you just want to enjoy your time exploring Gainesville and then have a safe, comfortable hotel to come back too to sleep and then back on the go.
Stayed at this hotel while dropping my daughter at college. We booked a bit last minute and were travelling from overseas and were a bit nervous about the hotel quality. We were pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly, the location was perfect considering we were driving with just a short walk to Target and supermarket. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Very happy with our stay and will be back again.
Nothing fancy here, but it was clean and the staff was very friendly and professional. We were desperate to find a hotel near the Gainesville airport because our flight to Ft. Myers was moved to Gainesville. Apparently there was a very big college football game which filled up all the big name hotels. We only needed a place to sleep one night, so this one did the trick. We have no complaints.
Clean, comfortable beds and rooms, good breakfast, easy to use TVs, the better with which to watch the Elite 8 basketball tournament - in the age of internet TV with balkanized services, I have come to appreciate hotels that can deliver actual over the air mainstream televised sports.
Also loved the dining options nearby - steakhouse and Cracker Barrel - made it easy to feed the fam.
Super convenient and close to Gainesville city & UF. Just off I-75 but quiet.
Booking was easy. Great value for money. WILL STAY AGAIN.
Good internet.
This is essentially a no frills place and As advertised.
Really nice stay in room that has good, comfy beds and useful microwave, refrigerator small kitchen area.
The fully furnished two bedroom apartment was very new, clean and modern. The apartment was conveniently located near UF Health Shands Hospital as I had a procedure there. There was no shortage of great places to eat in the neighborhood. I would highly recommend the Scholar Apartments.
This hotels staff understands and execute hospitality services at its finest. I stayed 7 nights. My room was spotless. The pool was awesome and very clean. I travel to Gainesville Florida every month. The staff was the best I have experienced in years. Touche to all of them.
The hotel itself as well as our room were extremely clean and inviting. I have never seen a hotel restroom as clean as ours. The beds were very comfortable, there was a large TV, and there’s also little reading lights near the headboard of the beds. Good job, Fairfield.
The facility was clean and well located near the University of Florida and right next to UF Health. The hotel restaurant was exceptional, although the bar service the second day I was there was very poor. I ended up leaving because I was waiting so long to get my order.
The location was great. Other than that...not much. I'm sorry but I need to keep righting more so I check the box here. There isn't much that was good. I expected the "Grand Hotel" to be grand but it was a cheap motel for like $140/night.
The manager Samatha. She had her hands full, but was try to be accommodating. She did a great job for what she had to deal with. There should be security and 24 hour maintenance available. Especially since it's an extended stay hotel.
