Honestly- nothing. Motel is in really bad shape, it smells like cat urine and there’s cats everywhere in the parking lot. There’s tons of garbage laying around. The front desk people can’t speak English very well - making check in VERY difficult.

Wonderful town, typical of south central Texas. My favorite restaurants were the Stock Yard (especially for breakfast) and a delightful TexMex restaurant in town center. The mariachi music on Friday evening was a pleasant surprise. Love this town!!

Loved driving through the country side made us long for a piece of land to call our own, we talked about it, as we drove enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Oh um YUM! We ate delivery from La Bella Tavola Italian Grill & Pizza, I had the chicken parm and my husband had the philly cheese-steak, oh, get in my MOUTH! It was good and I still have some leftovers. I think they used doordash, it was quick, easy and fast.
Gonzales was easy on the GPS, easy to find what we needed and where we needed to go.
We left early in the morning so the low fog was a bit thick, oh... and dont go to the Best Western Inn & Suites in Gonzales. Decent rooms/Bad management.

We enjoyed our visit.
We enjoyed our visit. The trip was for her to see some Texas History. Which we did. The two museums were very interesting and we were well informed by the people at the museum's and even townspeople about more of the history. My granddaughter did learn alot of good Information, and we both had a wonderful time.

Gonzales is a small town (pop 7,200) with big history (the first shots of the Texas Revolution were fired here). There are many fine mansions, mainly along St. Louis and St. Lawrence streets. Information on walking and driving tours is available at the Gonzales Museum -- which has a great collection of military and household artifacts. It is home of the famous (and surprisingly compact) "Come and Take It" cannon.
Good downtown dining venues are on the square. Prices are much more reasonable than you'll find in Hill Country venues. There's also a theater and capacious antique/junk shops. For an afternoon treat, try Sweet B's selection of ice cream and cupcakes.

This small town is a hidden gem!
This small town is a hidden gem! The first time we stayed in Gonzales was when we went to "90 Miles on 90". We loved it so much, we came back for Winterfest. The town is what you'd imagine an old historic town to be. The people are friendly, the town square is charming, the small shops have great affordable finds, the Winterfest parade was family filled and fun and the restaurants were good. This is a great place to visit and definitely a place I would raise a family. Loved it and we'll definitely be back!

We have family who live in Gonzales.
We have family who live in Gonzales. It has MANY beautiful spots for a LONG OVERDUE Family Photo Shoot for 3 generations. We stayed at the Alcalde Hotel, and others stayed at the Dilworth Inn. It was wonderful to use the courthouse grounds for outdoor pictures.
Nothing. This Hotel called and canceled on us the day of trip at 1pm as we were leaving for a 5 hour drive. Then, it took over 2 weeks, and 3 phone calls to get my money refunded. Every time I called, she was ABOUT to refund my money. I will never book here again. I understand plumbing issues and really bad luck, but I don't understand keeping my money 2 weeks.
Staff was very accommodating and courteous, it appears the facility is undergoing remodeling at the time but it is still very clean, the bed was comfortable and the window area has a seating area. I definitely recommend this hotel.
The ambience and the history were wonderful. Well manicured grounds, superb staff and wonderful breakfast. Also enjoyed the breakfast conversation with other guests. Gonzales is a very historic town with lots of historic homes
Nice little boutique hotel that met our needs for an overnight stay. Not fancy, but clean and well maintained in an older downtown building. Minimal staffing but check-in went smoothly and there were no surprises.
Came into town for music festival. Hotel served its purpose. Shower was hot, pressure not strong. Room was clean, but older. I consider it a good value for the money. Full size fridge in room
The only thing good about our two-day stay at this disgusting motel was the small city of Gonzales. I will definitely visit Gonzales again, but I will never again stay at this motel.
