I only had coffee and a couple of pieces of fruit. Did not take time to sit down and eat breakfast.
I have been an IHG member for many years as my husband and I used to do a lot of traveling. I don't travel much anymore, however, when I do travel, I always try to stay at a Holiday Inn Express. Since I have not been traveling, my status dropped to Silver, which was a shock when I checked in and the lady told me I could not have free water since I was only silver status and that I could get a bottle from the vending machine for $3.00. Needless to say, that gives me an entirely different view of Holiday Inn Express since there are many other hotels to choose from now. I suppose in the future when I do need to travel, I will be checking with other hotels.

Least, no breakfast included, no coffee in lobby, the provided bulk bottles of various bathroom products I felt unsafe using them..single use soaps etc more sanitary. More tamper proof. Who used them last, did they have a disease transmittable through touch, could they have put a foreign substance in a bottle?. As a medical professional, I would not, did not use the community bathroom products.

We got recommendations from the hotel staff for places to eat that served “bar food” and they gave us choices and described the differences. They suggested a brewery that we then visited for dinner.
It was a wonderful place, friendly staff and very good food. There were healthy choices for me and the burger my husband liked.

Great scenic driving! Lots of place to enjoy.
Great scenic driving! Lots of place to enjoy. If you have kids, the driving is probably not for them since most of the roads are curvy and hilly, they'll get nausea for sure! The roadways signs are sometime not shown in advance, and sometimes roads don't look like roads. We missed many turns due to this.

It was awful!! Didn't get the room I booked!!
It was awful!! Didn't get the room I booked!! Needed disabled room, no hand rails at toilet or the bathtub. Walls in shower/bathtub was really dirty!! No hair dryer, so I didn't get to wash my hair! No clock in room! Bathtub was really small for handicap!!! The ice container had something black in it!! Furniture was in poor condition. My boyfriend hurt his stomach trying to get out of bathtub!! Only had 1 working lamp in room! Just a really bad room for the price!! Never will stay there again and I'll tell others to Not stay there!! Left before time to check out!! So PLEASE DON'T STAY HERE!!!!
The staff was more than friendly, and though the hotel is a little dated (which doesn’t bother us in the least), it’s absolutely clean, which is all I look for when I’m traveling. We got upgraded to a little apartment style room with a sofa, microwave, fridge, and sink. It was just perfect. The guy working behind the desk went out of his way to be nice and to accommodate us and even gave us a room upgrade without us asking.
This Best Western in Hickory NC was in a great location, near the highway for convenience but not too loud to disturb my sleep. Breakfast was excellent with eggs and a side meat every day, along with biscuits and gravy and fresh made waffles. An abundance of fruit was also offered. Having coffee and bottled water available all day was also great. Staff was very helpful and everywhere was very clean.
Everything about the home was perfect. it was super clean and aesthetically pleasing. the hosts have outfitted the home with everything you could possibly need. The beds were some of the most comfortable we have stayed in and was just like being at home. If you are planning a trip to Hickory or the surrounding area, you can rest assured that you will have a great stay at the Cozy little blue house.
Did not try the breakfast. Man at desk was very nice. Room was clean but room was advertised as a hotel when it was actually a motel. Air conditioning did not work well at all. Shower water went from comfortable to very very hot and occasionally to cold. Toilet ran all night even after jiggling handle. TV channels did not match to the menu screen.

location_peaceful away from bussy traffice noise. safe because it is away from business traffic. but convinient to shopping and restaurant just couple blocks from the hotel. supplied with enough essential for the stay.
The staff was very professional and kind to our family. This hotel was so quiet, peaceful and the surroundings were clean. I liked that even though our room was located in the back, we felt safe.
The room was very nice, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is in a great location!! There were lots of things to do, and we had fun exploring the area.
Our entire experience was fantastic. Very clean hotel, super friendly staff, and large full breakfast selection. Very impressed with holiday inn Express
The hotel is near nothing fancy but what is important to me is a clean room and good wifi at an affordable price and that's what this place offers you.
