It was very close to Joshua Tree and walking distance to the small town of Joshua Tree. The Motor Inn looked so cute in the pictures on line. But that is not what we got. Looks like the grounds have note be maintained at all. Weeds, a dead weedeater, broom just laying on the ground. I would not stay again nor would I recommend.

Excellent! Great place to go with school-aged kids. In addition to the park we went to Sky's the Limit at night for the telescopes, which was amazing. We enjoyed Crossroads Cafe and Rib Co. for food. Definitely would return!

High points: at the end of one of the two main roads you'll find Keys View. stunning view into the valley. We arrived about an hour before sunset and it the light was perfect! Take the Barkers Dam trail and on your way back head over to the petroglyphs. Continue on, around the rock face, and you'll find another amazing view of a valley full of Joshua trees.
Park staff were very friendly and helpful. Be forewarned, all toilet facilities are outhouses. They have them all over the park, but the ones at the campgrounds get heavier use.
We were there for two days and got to see the highlights. We went in early March and the weather was cool (68 deg) and sunny. Park wasn't too crowded. But we went on a Monday and Tuesday. It's easy striking distance from LA so beware of weekend crowds.

Beautiful scenery and places to hike in February and cooler times, but it would be too hot to hike in the prime of summer.
There should be some cafes or at least a couple simple restaurants in the park and there were none. There were barely enough vault toilets to accomodate all the visitors within the park, and they were sadly not very clean or pleasant.

This is a true wonder with fantastic sunset views over Coachella valley, and with stunning granite roc formations. Try it ideally outside of long weekends as this is a bit bothering to see more cars than trees 😀.

I loved all of the thrift stores and the outdoor market was wonderful too. Fantastic places to eat like Crossroads Cafe and see live music like Pappy and Harriet's. Fun sights to see like the crochet museum and art galleries throughout the town. Beautiful national park, absolutely gorgeous place to take photographs, especially at dusk when the silhouettes of the joshua trees stand out against the setting sun. Stargazing is mesmerizing in the park at night, but also very satisfying from anywhere in town. Easy to navigate and walk around town.
Everything about our stay at The Castle House Estate was incredible! The host made sure we had everything we needed & had the room service waiting for us upon our arrival (which was deliciousness). The beds were super comfy & the bedding incredibly warm. Everything was super clean. We got the add on private movie package which was also amazing & located in the main house/event space. Highly recommend this place to stay while you’re in Joshua Tree. We will be back :-)
The concept of staying in a camp of Airstream campers situated around a beautiful property just inset from the highway and 1/4 mile from the entrance road to Joshua Tree was brilliant. The accommodations and lodge were great. The pool was also a nice place to come back to after a hot day in the park. Love that each camper has its own firepit and covered picnic table outside with Adirondack chair seating. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and will likely be back.
Outstanding place to stay near the heart of Joshua Tree town. Five minutes away from everything, including the Visitor's Center that leads to the western entrance.
The property itself was wonderful. Off a quiet dirt road, with enough space and privacy (from surrounding properties) to make you feel that you've truly gone away. We made sure to use the firepit and stargazed once it got dark.
Will definitely be my first choice for a future stay at Joshua Tree.
This is a great place to experience desert living. Standard hotels/motels are often cookie cutter rooms, this is not. If you'd like a "different" experience, this is definitely a place to stay. It's artsy. It's a little "off-grid". It's mind-opening, as is visiting Joshua Tree National Park. Glad we came and will always remember our adventures here.
The Safari Motor Inn is a traditional American motel. The room was a good size, clean, comfortable and the room was serviced daily. Parking was directly outside the motel. It was a short walk to the nearby restaurants, cafes and store. Joshua Tree NP entrance was 5 minutes away. The owner was most helpful and very keen that you found your stay enjoyable.
I loved the interior and exterior design, the amenities, and the incredible outside area! I felt truly that we lacked nothing, and we had a hard time leaving to go hike in Joshua tree, haha! A pretty good problem to have. I would highly recommend anyone who wants a refuge to stay here. I also loved the provided robes, slippers, and big outdoor hats.
A wonderful place to spend time in the desert. Beautiful property, felt like home. The decor and incredible garden were just fantastic. We had a wonderful stay, would definitely like to return. Pamela is a brilliant host, providing lots of information, helpful tips to fully appreciate the beautiful Joshua Tree.
What an absolute gem this is! A beautiful vacation home with every amenity you could want. Pictures are accurate. Close to joshua tree national park, so it's easy to go there for both sunrise and sunset.
Wonderful record collection to dance the night away. Great kitchen. Great grill in the backyard.
Amazing location. Right in the middle of the desert, perfect to visit the Joshua Tree National Park. The beds are big and very comfortable. The house overall is supernice, it has a great kitchen and all we could need during our stay. At night we could go out to the yard and watch the stars.
Everything was great, our yurt was clean and comfy. We weren’t cold at all during the night. Overall it’s a beautiful and unique location in Joshua Tree. Just make sure you read their instructions and website descriptions and come prepared.
Very clean and modern property. Great location for Joshua Tree National Park. Hot tub, BBQ, and kitchen appliances were all in good condition and usable. Heater was working great. Easy to check in.
I’d stay here again
The bungalow is a beautifully refurbished 1961 Frank Lloyd Wright style property set in a development of similar bungalows in Joshua Tree. It’s a stunning property in a fantastic location.
location is perfect to visit joshua tree national park. House is amazing, very new, clean and thoughtful. Host was always available for questions. Hot tub is definitely a plus!
Relaxing desert getaway steps from Joshua Tree National Park. The space was perfect and had all conveniences and luxuries one would need for a relaxing desert retreat.
Elsa's Desert Retreat was a perfect location to explore Joshua Tree National Park. The place was clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here.
