I have been going to the OBX for 20+ years.

I have been going to the OBX for 20+ years. We have visited all of the tourist spots and wonderful seafood restaurants over the years. I can no longer climb stairs so that narrowed down renting places to stay . I was pleasently surprised to find a hotel to fit my handicap needs. And really enjoyed ourselves.

Everything was within walking and driving distance.

Everything was within walking and driving distance. We had a great trip. The local restaurants are great, and there are many to choose from. There is plenty of shopping, and many, many things for the kids to do. It was a wonderful place to stay and we will be back!

There are so many options of things to do here!

There are so many options of things to do here! Of course there's the beach, there are plenty of public access area's some have restrooms and showers, the beach is very clean, and there are lifeguards that patrol regularly. There's plenty of shopping to be done and fantastic restaurants! You HAVE to have the crab cakes at Kill Devil Grill. Kitty Hawk is also so central to so many other destinations, you can easily drive up to Corolla to see the wild horses, down to Cape Hatteras, Roanoke Island.

I liked that it was in between the busier towns but was not as busy as them. It had a great little sandwich shop that served a mean Cuban and a cool bagel place that was a few steps from our condo. Grocery store and pharmacy was easily accessable.

    The location was great.

The location was great. We had a very nice view from our room. The every three day room cleaning was not ok. We had to take our own trash out, get pool towels to use to shower and ask for toilet paper and trash bags. For the money we paid for the room, room service everyday would be nice. I also didn’t like that the outside bar closed before 7.

This is a beautiful area with tons 2 do.

This is a beautiful area with tons 2 do. You will not be idle unless you choose to be. The down side to having so much to do is the cost. I would suggest budgeting 2x more then what you think you may spend in things to do. Especially we several teenagers to keep busy.

The staff were all very accommodating and friendly. The entire facility (although new) was very clean and convenient. The pool was great, lots of clean towels. Breakfast was great. Location was great, short walk to beach and lots of shopping and restaurants. We stay for 1 night every year in Kitty Hawk before meeting up with other families in Corolla or Ocracoke, and as long as prices stay consistent we'll definitely be choosing this hotel again in the future.

KD by the Sea, is hosted by Katy and her husband who were both super friendly and very helpful. They answered all our questions about the local area and even offered to make us some supper when we arrived early evening. The room was spotless, had been lovingly decorated and it was clear that a lot of thought has been put into making guests comfortable. For us it was a wonderful change from the ubiquitous hotel rooms found everywhere.

If I had to stay at a hotel in the area again it would be here. Clean, nice, updated facility. My family and I traveled from Texas. Ended up in a car accident. Not going to go into details, but the staff was very understanding and took the time out to care for us! I forgot the guy name, but the African American male with the locs from NY. We are greatly appreciated! So so Thankful for you!

We stayed there last week and it was wonderful. I had requested a handicap room on booking.com and they didn't get the request at the front desk, the hotel made it right for us in the end. The rooms were immaculate and the pool was easy to get into on the handicap assist chair. Breakfast was a hit too. I am going to miss it when I go home.

Everything was perfect. I traveled to town for my birthday and it was the most amazing experience. Minutes from the beach. A short drive to dining and stores. The host made it feel like home with all the little things. Planning our next trip with them already. Best location best price

It was clean and updated. The pool was a good size. We prefer being closer to Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head and Roanoake Island because there is more to do and lots of great places to eat plus much less traffic.
