Breakfast was good. There was a variety of foods including fruit, hard boiled eggs, and muffins. Also juice and coffee were available. The building had such old world charm that was really endearing. The rooms were a page right out of a history book! The windows were huge and beautiful, the beds were very comfortable. Hotel was clean, neat and tidy.

We really enjoyed our stay at Whitetail creek resort. The deluxe cabin was great. We loved the sound of the creek right outside of the door, and the whole experience was very relaxing. We were traveling by motorcycle, and our next leg was up through Spearfish Canyon. This was just a short ride from the resort to Cheyene Crossings (great breakfast) which is at the south end of the Spearfish Canyon ride.

Staying in Lead was peaceful and quiet.
Staying in Lead was peaceful and quiet. A grocery store is right across the street and only a 5 minute drive to the action and activity in Deadwood. This hotel is less than a year old and still looks brand new.

We did not actually visit Lead much itself, but stayed just outside of the town at the Blackstone Hotel. Lead is filled to the brim with gold mining history. Many of the wonderful old buildings of that time are still there. Quite a few B&B's available. It is worthwhile to check out the old Homestake Mine and the renovated theatre. Spectacular stuff. DYI: Calamity Jane eventually made Lead her home. Deadwood history and it's characters are only 3 miles away. Beautiful territory for viewing the natural surrounds of the gulch.

Great room - clean, comfortable bed (most comfortable bed in the last 4 motel beds we have been in before arriving here). Close to Deadwood for dining and gaming. Just up the street from the Stanford Interpretive museum (a must see!). It did snow overnight about 6” but plows were out in abundance.

Well, we truly enjoyed everything!
Well, we truly enjoyed everything! The scenery of all the colors changing in the hills. We took a drive to Hill City and it was so pleasant and saw a little wildlife (Fox, deer, etc).
The shops were so interesting and we picked up some souvenirs! The weather was absolutely fantastic. Getting around was so easy and the food at the Gold Dust was fabulous!
This place is a quiet hotel to retreat from busyness of Deadwood. There was no noise through the floors at all, (concrete construction?) and very little though the doors. They are serious about quiet-hours. The beds were comfortable, and the location excellent for both the hikes around Spearfish, and the wild-west extravaganza which is Deadwood, 3 miles or a shuttle away.
The room was spacious. Nice comfy bed. Very large bathtub. The room was clean. It had a fridge desk and pull out sofa. The room was fine itself. The hotel isn't super fancy at all but also not ghetto or seemed unsafe. It's 2 miles from deadwood and they have a shuttle till 11pm. Breakfast was ok. They had waffles, eggs, sausage and hashbrowns with coffee and juice cups.
This hotel has many great things. The price is very good, the lobby was very nice, the staff was amazing and friendly. The room clean and beds very comfortable. Located in Mead….very short distance from deadwood and they even have a shuttle at night in case you want to go deadwood..I don’t have one bad thing to say..l.we will stay again next time we go!

The location is awesome, home was excellent, and hosts helped make the experience as comfortable as possible. The welcome tray was an awesome little touch. I definitely will be back in the future. I highly recommend staying here while in the Deadwood/Lead area.
This hotel far exceeded my expectations. A lovely historic building with a very cozy room. The caretaker was awesome and made the stay fun! The bed was very comfortable. Light breakfast and good coffee ready every morning was perfect.
We were driving to Yellow Stone, stop by and stay here for just one night. I will say this hotel is the best one through our whole traveling, not only because of the price but also the equipment in the room and good hot breakfast.
The inn is beautiful with a ton of character. The bed was extremely comfortable and the continental breakfast was delicious. Location was very convenient to Deadwood. Lead itself is well worth the visit.
Old building with some original features. Hotel needs a bit of TLC. Staff very friendly and helpful. Attached bar very good with good selection of brews. Complementary nachos and cheese.
Friendly staff, quiet, brand new facilities, very good hot breakfast. Everything was clean, we had a good rest (like home).
The best hotel shampoo/conditioner/shower gel I’ve ever had.
Perfect for visiting Deadwood/Lead and very easy to find. Accommodations were very nice. Plenty of room, quiet and we'll stocked with whatever we needed.
