All the restaurants were closed (between seasons); we had to go to the next town to eat - not a big deal. Mono Lake and the surrounds are incredibly unusual beautiful and very different. This was my second trip but I would like to return again.

Very small town in a very beautiful natural area. Stones throw from Mono Lake. The food and lodging choices are limited. As a vegan I had zero options for restaurants. But that isn't too unusual in a small town. If you’re visiting Yosemite, Lee Vining is perfect. We travelled from Vegas & stayed here the night before heading into Yosemite. Such a cute little town, full of lovely, friendly people. I came for Lake Mono and it was magnificent.
I came for Lake Mono and it was magnificent. Bodie Ghost Town is definitely worth an extended visit. The surrounding area is a hiker/backpackers dream. Stop by the Epic Grill for a meal on the terrace
