The location is a few minutes from the airport, Walmart and the beach. Everything was clean and the staff was great. Coffee made in the lobby from 8 to 11 am. The kitchen had a small fridge with a freezer comp, hot plate with some pans and everything needed to make and eat small meals. Hot water, comfy bed, towels and soap. AC worked great. Recommend the stay if you need to be by the airport or on this end of the island.

Lihue is a small working town that serves the tourist industry and the local population. They have rush-hour traffic problems., which I experienced, and the traffic problems on the island are growing.
That said, the locals are friendly, they want us to visit, and I felt safe wherever I went. Plenty of amenities.

Close in shopping at similar prices to what we pay at home.
Close in shopping at similar prices to what we pay at home. This was a private unit so you need to buy your own toilet paper if you run out (front desk won’t give you any). Safeway is close with a Starbucks, food trucks abound (do try them), Kona’s fish and chips are sooooo good! Don’t miss the museum down town. Waze directions app is amazing at getting you around. Costco is close, so is an Urgent Care. Don’t worry if you leave something home, you can easily buy it there.

the airport in lihue so it is easy to get to. most folks stay in kapa'a, which has many more food options. lihue has good coffee (it should. coffee is grown on the island) and a nice beach at the marriott hotel. it is a convenient place for exploring the island but is a town. it is not a resort location. good kuwai museum in lihue, tho. i recommend the museum. just don't stay at the tip top hotel. it is a dive,

This was our first time in Kaui and we only stayed 4 days, then flew to Oahu. We could have stayed longer in Kaui, there is so much to see and do. We really like to drive around the island and find places and things to do. Its definitely more of a day adventure island. It is beautiful. I had a hard time finding something affordable to stay at, and the Royal Sonesta in Lihue ended up being an affordable option, and turned out to be a great option. Although close to the airport, you dont feel like you are. We dont really hang out at the resort so it didnt matter to us where the hotel was however this ended up being a great spot as we were right in the middle and can getting to either side of the island did not take long

The "grand canyon" was beautiful. The flora was beautiful.
The "grand canyon" was beautiful. The flora was beautiful. Too many resorts spoiled the north island to be able to enjoy it. The island was flooded with people and cars which is not what I remember from a maui visit many years ago. I felt sad for the long time residents to have their way of life spoiled by so many of us visitors and condo owners.
We love, love, love this condo and the entire property. Awesome location right next to Kauai Beach resort, use of their 4 pools was included, though not necessary, as we had a lovely pool and spa right at the condo. Loved the privacy of our own condo, free parking, grounds were beautiful and very well cared for. Villas have 30 second to 4 minute walk to the villa beach, depending on which unit you are in. Condo itself is adorable, and the location was perfect for trips to Lihue (to stock up), and beaches north, east, south and west.
This is an older well kept hotel with a Hawaii vibe. Hotel prices in Kauai are high. We spent almost the same amount for nicer hotels on the other islands. Location is good, staff very nice and helpful. Parking is good. Coffee is GREAT! We stayed 4 days instead of 2 because our plans changed. If you're on a tight budget, this hotel fits the bill. Restaurants within walking distance. My special needs son loved the cat Mango and of course chickens/roosters thru-out Hawaii.
The place is perfection is you have kids. We travelled with our 5-year old son and the pool was his favourite part. You really cannot beat the outdoor pool area. On top of that, the rooms are huge with tons of space. We stayed at the Sheraton for the first part of our vacation, and are so glad we chose Royal Sonesta for the rest of it. Absolute best money value for the money and we will be staying here when we come back!
A decade ago we spent our very first vacation together in this hotel and loved it so much we came back three years ago. Back then, we especially loved the warmth, the views and the classes thought by Aloha. This time we wanted to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday, but we were unpleasantly surprised that a lot seems to have changed. We will never come back…
Top location, close to airport and Walmart. Motel has a restaurant with great coffee, value for money breakfast ( huge variety) and most importantly it is the place where locals eat, which is always a good sign. Charlie, the Vietnam war veteran, who lives in the motel ads extra charm to the place. He has great stories and loves to have a chat.
Friendly and helpful staff and housekeeping crew.
Fantastic pools and restaurant options.
Evening musical entertainment.
Great location. Close enough to the airport. Centrally located, on the island of Kauai.
It's a bit secluded, enhancing vacation relaxation.
A rental car is needed if you plan to explore the island.
The cleaning staff were amazing We would like to congratulate the manager Leidel Dinio for her excellent skills of making us welcome and to her cleaning staff who really work hard. The office staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel cat “Mango” was a very lovely bonus to have around.
1. Access to the pool at Kauai Beach Resort (the pool at the villas was nice, but pretty small). We have two kids and they loved the sand pool and water slide.
2. Great location. Close to the airport.
3. Clean facilities with a lot of room.
Pretty much everything about the resort was great. Great location near airport, great unit with 2 floors, everything was clean and furnishings were newer and of good quality. 2 balconies both great for morning sun bathing.
A little hotel/inn with great friendly service, lots of advice and tips for places to go. The pool and breakfast area were lovely. Excellent coffee available all day. The a/c was so loud you couldn’t hear the roosters.
The hotel property is very well maintained. The pools and common areas are clean and well manicured. It is close to Lihue and the airport and right on the beach. As a resort, this ticks all the boxes.
location lovely beach associated with hotel with excellent beach bar food excellent staff professional and friendly and very helpful
lovely spacious rooms we had an ocean view which enhanced the ambience
Good location if someone plan to drive around island.
Comfortable bed and good size room
Nice surrounding - good views during breakfast
Cheap price comparing to other hotels on Kauai
If you’re stuck in Kauai without a car this may not be the best spot, but there still is quite bit to offer here. Great beach, nice amenities and overall you’re on a beautiful island.
