Monument Valley is an awesome place.
Monument Valley is an awesome place. We took the tribal sunrise tour and I highly recommend it! We were planning to take the stargazing tour but it was cloudy, so they offered the sunrise tour or a reschedule in it's place. They also offered a refund, so I really appreciated the options..

Mainly a passing town and not worth a night as the hotel prices are pretty steep. Less food choices as well. One way to see this place is arrive in the morning and leave by late afternoon. A few hours is what you need.

Great spot for a tour both a guided and a self guided if you have time. Just prepare for the weather if you are doing a tour on an open bus! Great Navajo guides and a great opportunity to learn more about Native American people.

in order to best take in the valley - I would give yourself a full day to do the scenic drive within the park, and check out some of the other scenic spots nearby. The scenic drive is only available for a short window mid day so plan accordingly. the formations and local pride in the area is very memorable.

The amount of construction around the scenic areas is shocking. I never expected Monument Valley to be in the middle of housing. It was a very sad thing to see. I guess it's the smell of money that changed Monument Valley into a kind of Disneyland. Based on what I saw, I would not make a detour.

Monument Valley is to be experienced!
Monument Valley is to be experienced! We both drove it ourselves and took a tour. I would highly recommend MV Dineh Rebekah (SP?) Cultural Tour which took us behind public areas and we had the attention of a Dineh Guide. It was magical.

convenient for touring monument valley. originally booked for 2 nights, but cancelled the 2nd while we were there. nothing wrong with the hotel, but once you’ve seen monument valley there’s not much else to see! the room was clean and spacious, great views. we did a sunrise tour of monument valley, not through gouldings, but as check out is at 11, you can do the tour and still have time for a shower and move in. the restaurant is limited in choice. we drove to Mexican Hat and found some restaurants there.
We had a cabin Suite it was so pretty and well appointed with a direct view of the Monument Valley. We are a family of 4 and had 2 queen beds and a pullout to sleep up to 6. A small supermarket was conveniently located right behind us and a gas station down the street. The main lodge was a few minutes drive from the cabins as well as a restaurant, pool and gift shop. We had no phone reception in the reserve but the hotel has a great wifi. Overall we loved it there.
The location was beyond expectations. Historic place, fits excellent in Monument Valley. The little houses with the patio are ideal to relax and enjoy the view of the Monument Valley. Only a few minutes driving from Monument Valley Tribal Park entrance. Also many tours were offered. Our suite was very comfortable and extremely clean. The staff was very friendly and polite. I wish I had a month to stay and enjoy Goulding’s Lodge. Definitely get back!
Every lodge room has a panoramic view of several buttes. There’s also a very personal museum that gives the history of the founders and early days of the lodge, a very good restaurant with great staff, a nice gift shop, free nightly showings in a little theater building of John Wayne movies that were filmed in Monument Valley, hiking trails starting right on the premises, and guided motor tours of the area. The lodge location is spectacular.
This hotel is so well located from every room you have the beautiful view on monument valley.
The room was very nice with two big confortable beds, a nice bathroom an an outdoor space with the view.
It’ about 10min from the entrance of the Valley drive and 20min from the Forest Gump point.
There is a nice restaurant as well !
Great hotel with a view! Our room had a balcony and the view was stunning! Totally worth the price. We had a chance to use a pool, it was a nice after a long drive to Monument Valley. Hotel has everything you need: restaurant, pool, museum, gift shop.
It was great to have a little cottage of our own with a complete kitchen. It was great to be able to see monument valley from the kitchen window. We were off season, so everything was quiet and pleasant during our stay, although a bit cold outside.
Beautiful hotel with a unique history. We loved our stay at Goulding's Lodge. The views cannot be beat and the hotel is located in the rocks. The staff was very friendly and we felt right at home. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Located nearby monument valley with some nice views, room was nice but not very spacious compared to the price we payed. It's an ok alternative compared to the view hotel. Pool was very nice, and restaurant was great.
Fabulous location. View was amazing on the monument valley. The tour was amazing and the fact we were in the lodge allowed us to enter the park that was closed.
Just fantastic.
loved the old feel to the property. Even though it was dated it was very clean and comfortable. Loved the history of the lodge. The views from our balcony were amazing!
Fantastic views over Monument valley, amazing on site free museum (leave a donation which helps local school) . Very much a high end motel at a great price
