Not much for me to say, I was driving Route 66 and only stayed here for the night, but it was a pleasant area, everyone was friendly, felt safe at night. But, went to bed early and left in the morning, so I did not really take in any of the nightlife. Places were open at the time for food and other supplies, not sure when everything shuts down there. Overall, a great stop on Route 66.

The 60s decor was kitschy & fabulous!
The 60s decor was kitschy & fabulous! Felt like I was on vacation with my parents back in the day. Room was sparkling clean. Friendly helpful staff. Everything was in proper working order. The sack breakfast we got was 2 mandarin oranges & 2 pastries that were either homemade or purchased at a bakery. One was a cinnamon streusel muffin & the other was a cinnamon apple bearclaw with the flakiest dough. Both were super delicious. Quick easy check-in & out. Pretty, friendly kitty in the lobby. Shower pressure was good. Air conditioning worked perfectly. Safe area. Cute outdoor patio setup. Free parking right outside your door. Keurig with Starbucks K-cups in room. Ice provided at lobby. Rooms were shockingly quiet. Beds were very comfy & three plush pillows for each bed. Linens & towels great quality. And a rubber ducky! Can't beat the value in price. We will definitely stay again & we highly recommend to stay & step back in time.

This motel was in need of repairs and was dangerously dirty.
This motel was in need of repairs and was dangerously dirty. The sink appeared to have black mold growing around it. The staff seemed not to be surprised when the possibility of black mold was reported to them. I would not stay in this motel again.

Staff was very friendly, room was clean.
Staff was very friendly, room was clean. The Ac comes on but doesn't cool. It makes a noise every few minutes like an ice maker. The light/fan in the bathroom was loud and the door sticks, so it makes a loud sound when it is opened. The beds are hard. The light flashed when turned on. TV does not work.

We found a very good Mexican restaurant, La Hacienda, and enjoyed our meal immensely. We were only passing through so didn't catch any of the town's activities. It seemed quiet, and the Sunset Motel was a fun, clean, retro, unassuming place to stay.

Moriarty is safe and convenient for those traveling on I 40.
Moriarty is safe and convenient for those traveling on I 40. People are friendly and there are interesting stores such as Studio 66 which features local artists, at which to shop. The town is small, so it is easy to find locations, and there are several nice hotels to choose from.
Staff very friendly. Room and facilities very clean. Good choice at breakfast and staff member at breakfast kept everything clean and stocked up. We were offered cookies at check in which we thought was a lovely touch. Great to see the place decorated for halloween/fall and interesting to learn from information on the walls, what films were made in the area and that the filming crews stayed at this hotel! If our schedule allowed it, we would have had no hesitation in extending our stay
Like stepping back into the late 60s or early 70s, except the heat pump was quiet and nothing looked like it was an antique. The room was cute, the beds comfy. The owner was beyond welcoming and seemed to enjoy meeting people. While Bkfst was brown bagged there was coffee in the room, and the brown bag contained special pastries and fruit, which we made good use of. It was better than what we are used to getting at large chain hotels.
Friendly, helpful front desk clerks, with both check-in and check-out easy (reservation thru Booking.com). It was clean and decent, but a little worn and dated. There was a microwave and mini-fridge (suggest instructions on how to use it, since no separate freezer unit). The bed was a bit hard and the pillows seemed smaller than standard. We would stay, again, if coming through Moriarty.
We’ve been to many lavish establishments and I must say the towels here are 5 Star hotel equivalent!!
Breakfast is served in a pack which was awesome as we had to leave 4-5AM.
Some of the things we liked:
- Curtains block light from the outside
- No bed bugs or cockroaches
- Super Safe neighbourhood
- Free Parking
- Free breakfast (Takeaway)
Quiet, clean and convenient hotel near I-40. Town is small, safe, and easy to get in/out. Nice beds, quiet rooms, etc. Staff nice, Breakfast unusually good, and well attended. Food was great, and well stocked. Got some help with the Belgian waffle maker, which was also great.
Very friendly staff. My room was in a convenient area and I could see the car from the window. A lot of things wrong but it’s an affordable hotel. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay a night without breaking the bank, it’s convenient.
We absolutely loved the Best Western in Moriarty! After being on the road for days, it was such a nice place to spend a night- the gym was great, the breakfast was FANTASTIC, and all of the staff were very nice!
This is a budget hotel which provided a decent sized room, a working and hot shower and a big comfy bed. I slept great, and that's all i needed.
A very polite and helpful receptionist!
We liked this! I am a bit picky about hotels and sometimes Super 8 can vary from decent to yuck. This one felt clean and it didn’t have that moldy hotel smell. We were pleased with it.
sparkling clean, well maintained and super cute retro aesthetic. loved how beautiful the property was and the whole vibe was nice. they provided breakfast and coffee gratis! cute cat!
We are local residents. Our water well went out and Moriarty Best Western is the best! Love the pool. Breakfast had the personal touch! Thank you all. Blessings to all!
Breakfast was good, hotel involved in interesting movie making history but information about plenty of movies filmed in nearby places should be visible during booking.
