Beautiful garden, nice idea with vintage furniture. It could be perfect if the furniture were clean and tables weren't shaky in the breakfast room. Food was tasty and the coffee was too weak.

The staff was helpful the gas did not work in the room but I found out the valve was not on, showed the hotel attendant what was wrong and how to turn it on because he did not know.

The bathroom was very tight. The shower head was terrible. Granted , this is an old hotel. It was very clean. The staff was nice. The beds need to be updated. But the price was ok and the location was close to most everything.
🌞Nags Head is excellent!❤️🐬🐬🐬Great service. Friendly people. Lighthouses were fantastic! OBX is very easy to navigate & beautiful! Great food everywhere! Experienced everything south, from Hatteras to an awesome Corolla beach drive(looking for the wild mustangs)!👍🏻
*lesson learned the hard way…must have 4wd to drive on the beach. Make sure to lower all tire pressures to 18 pounds & stay in the packed sand. Corolla City Park is little over a mile away to refill your tires. HAVE FUN!!!

Obx is wonderful! Manteo great town to explore off season.
Obx is wonderful! Manteo great town to explore off season. Can't say enough about this area. But it is better to visit off season months or it's extremely expensive. Booking.com needs to do much better on communication!!!!! Probably won't use again

What a fun visit! Fall at the beach is hit or miss.
What a fun visit! Fall at the beach is hit or miss. It was windy but not bad. We walked the beach, visited piers, shopped in quaint stores, ate in local restaurants & just enjoyed the area. Beautiful long weekend! Highly recommend looking at restaurants that are not chains—enjoy local specialties! Fish Heads and Sam & Omies were great! Get to Manteo & check out the history there too!

Nags Head and surrounding towns were typical beach attractions. Our visit was almost end of season, but shopping and restaurants were still open and staffed. We typically visit the Outer Banks NC at least once every other year, but try to visit off season in early Spring or Fall.
The Wright Brothers Museum is a great attraction, and since we travel with our pet dog found some excellent off leash dog parks.

I liked the beautiful beaches. Great local restaurants.
I liked the beautiful beaches. Great local restaurants. One in particular that is a must go to when vacationing is Tortuga's Lie, great Carribean food.
Best shop to shop for gifts is Parrot Bay-lots of beautiful things to buy. Many activities to see, in particular, Wright Brothers museum. Lighthouses-Bodie, Cape Hatteras, etc., are another must do!!
Room was very clean. Breakfast was a joke!! Hot breakfast was not available until 8am and the continental earlier breakfast was terrible. Bananas were too ripe to eat, meager so-called bake goods were terrible. Very disappointed. Main problem was our room in the adjacent building had no elevator and my husband and I in our late 70’s had to work up 2 double flights of stairs. Hotel could not move us because they were full.
The hotel staff was beyond accommodating and friendly.
The views front the balcony were beautiful. The pool was clean and refreshing. So close to the beach. The breakfast was amazing the best free break I’ve had in a hotel in a while. The staff even served it and was kind. Would definitely come back.
- next to beach
- view of beach from far
- quite clean
- everything you need there for a short stay
- comfortable bed
- parking lot available
- check in via Skype worked very well (late check in)
- soap dispenser (better than small toiletries which make lots of trash like in other hotels)
Friendly, welcoming staff. Clean and comfortable room. Well maintained pool. On a nice beach. Close to restaurants and shopping. Good breakfast food & service. Polite & quiet housekeeping. Next time we visit Nags Head we will stay at Surf Side Hotel!
location is great, right on the beach. Room was spartan but was acceptable since we specifically chose this hotel because it allows pets. ice machine near housekeeping office was a pleasant and useful surprise
This is a great location! Close to everything and right on a beautiful pond. Loved the price tag and the fact it is pet friendly! The room & bathroom was all we needed for a one night getaway!

Anywhere on the beach is a good location in the Outer Banks of N.C. I stayed in this hotel for over 25 yrs. Under new owners I'll never stay there again.
