Seaport Resort and Marina, hotel in New Bedford

Located on the Fairhaven waterfront, this hotel offers free WiFi and rooms equipped with a flat-screen TV and a work desk. Fort Phoenix State Reservation is 2 miles away.

The location had a lot of potential, but the waterfront VIEW was clouded by a small dirty window. Without an elevator, the choice of a ground floor room facing the street was not a choice. The room was fine enough, bed comfortable, but coffee maker did not work and 3 out of 4 of the ice machines were broken. No Breakfast. When I tried to contact the main desk with questions, Saturday evening 8-10pm, they did not answer and were not behind the desk. The maid was wonderful!

Delano Homestead Bed and Breakfast, hotel in New Bedford

Boasting a garden and views of garden, Delano Homestead Bed and Breakfast is a bed and breakfast set in a historic building in Fairhaven, 1.6 km from Fort Phoenix State Reservation Beach.

It is hard to list all of the things that we liked, rather loved, about this B&B! The style, the attention to detail and the quality of the furnishings that Paul has assembled in this historic home, the wonderful breakfast that Sharyn put together and her charm, and the chance to walk around this interesting neighborhood would top the list. This really is a special place, and not to be missed if you are in the area.

For anyone interested in our nation's history, New Bedford...

For anyone interested in our nation's history, New Bedford should be on the itinerary (i.e. Whaling Museum; Seamen's Bethel; Johnnycake Hill; County Street mansions; Saint Anthony's Church; etc.). It's also a great bird's eye view of the nation's top or number one working fishing port. You can't beat the seafood! Want to take the ferry out to Martha's Vineyard... Nantucket? This is the place. Want to go deep sea fishing? This is the place. Like Folk Music? Plan a trip in July for the New Bedford Summerfest. Did I say you can't beat the seafood? It's a shame that local & state political leadership doesn't do more to promote this jewel in the rough! On the other hand, maybe the locals are just fine with that.

A most interesting town with a very rich and diverse history, with highs and lows. A place that needs to be re-discovered more. Which I hope will happen once the commuter train between NB and Boston is at last running (after having been put on the back burner by non-South Shore politicians in Boston). Kudos to NB's indefatigable Mayor who believes in the city and its people, who leaves out not a single effort to bring civic pride and prosperity to a much too-long neglected gem on New England's coast.

Exciting place to visit, surely a town in transition with lots of history, great architecture, public arts and lots of potential from an urban development point of view, friendly people, but also unfortunately, some poor areas! Whaling museum is also great! We are glad we went.

We had booked at another hotel in the area in which the room was unclean and in poor condition. We scrambled to find other lodging and discovered the Fairfield. It was a 180 from the other hotel: clean, modern, attentive staff. We traveled here in summer. The location next to the piers is excellent thanks to the restaurants that opened there.

Just very rude I got to the property and the room I booked a month ago they gave to someone else so I got a different room and I was five hours from home so I wasn’t about to turn around keep my deposit for a couple towels that were used with a bath bomb just ridiculous. The place is a scam.

Great comfortable bed. Ample size of room and shower (note we were in a king accessible room. All the corner rooms are bigger than those along the sides). Easy walk to everything. Didnt use their parking lot which was 2 blocks away from town because street parking is free on the weekend.

I stayed one night on my way to Maine and to visit the Whaling Museum. The hotel location was convenient to the museum and to view the old cobblestone neighborhood. The hotel's breakfast service was great.
