It is the perfect city to visit should you want to “get out of your head” and discover something different. Each sit block brings a variety of eateries; deli’s, restaurants and places of interest only a cab ride away. I took 2 art classes, participated in a “Painting in the Park” event, went to the Met and took an on-line writing class. I found a great coffe shop in the area that I went to every day that provided grounding for myself. This was a very happy trip!!😆😊

Always the same.
Always the same. Everyone trying to scam you (from the hotel trying to charge resort fees up to the guy selling pretzels at the street), several homeless asking for money and trying to intimidate you, the city stinks with marijuana smell and all drugstores, now, have most of the items locked in (due to thieves) making shopping an unpleasant experience.
Food is bad, in general and avoid touristic places at all costs. My son wanted to go to tavern on the green. It was a good experience and the staff was welcoming, but the food was not only overpriced but simply said: not good enough.
Just go somewhere else: North Carolina for instance. Ashville is amazing.

We associate so many sounds and sights with NYC from a variety of media that actually setting foot there boggles the mind. Over a (busy) week I’ve walked a lot in pretty much all the main boroughs of Manhattan (Greenwich Village, Harlem, Chinatown, East Village, Midtown, etc.) and I definitely would recommend everyone to alternate visiting iconic landmarks/museums such as the Empire State Building or the MoMA with a little walk in more residential neighbourhoods without any clear purpose, just to get a feel of how people live. My tips would be to avoid eating at restaurants (incredibly overpriced) and try quality takeout food from stores such as Whole Foods, and also take the free ferry to Staten Island instead of the expensive boat to the Statue of Liberty. You still get to see it and can keep your money for other endeavours. The MetroCard on the other hand is an excellent investment (all buses and subway lines for 33 dollars over a week).
If I had had a few more days I would have loved to spend some time in Brooklyn but Manhattan is such a fascinating place with so much to do, I couldn’t make it. Next time!

We revisited places as we used to live nearby.
We revisited places as we used to live nearby. It's got everything - theatres, buildings, parks, museums (fabulous)- easy to get around with buses and subway which are good value but almost everything else is very expensive. The people are incredibly helpful and pleasant - a great change over the past decades - it feels pretty safe now (but still be careful especially your wallet etc).
We would go back anytime.

The staff were very friendly and hellpful.
The staff were very friendly and hellpful. Our room was very small, but it was ok for us.
The hotel had a rooftop and a piano bar but those were closed for private functions so the regular residents could not participate and that was disappointing especially if you didn't want to go anywhere and wanted to stay in your hotel.

This city is bustling and beautiful.
This city is bustling and beautiful. The architecture is outstanding and unlike anything I have seen before.
It was a pleasure to see parts of the city I have seen only before in movies.
The Moma and Met were fascinating and interesting. The area is spacious and used well.
The subway is essential to getting around, and was designed thoughtful.
The train from Jamaica Station was a please to ride to Manhattan.
New York you have a special spot in my heart.
My room was clean and my bed was comfortable. The location is very close to the Javits Center. The hotel itself felt not so nice as there was
always at least one of those room cleaning stations in the lobby which was very plain and not welcoming. The elevator kept breaking and I was on the 10th floor. I did not spend any time in the hotel other than to sleep which was nice and quiet. It was the cheapest room in the city by far so I shouldn’t have had high expectations. It was fine for a budget hotel even thought it was $275
The location is perfect for us since we take a train to Penn Station. It is also within walking distance of most Broadway Theaters, which are always on our agenda . Our room was just as advertised, queen bed ,attractive and clean , with a great view. We have stayed at the New Yorker twice, and were pleased with both visits. We particularly enjoy the 24 hour coffeeshop downstairs, Tick Tock, for breakfast. The price was not cheap, but reasonable for New York City.
The location is superb, it's a centric location, tons of subway stations nearby, a lot of restaurants, hell's kitchen etc... This is my third time staying at the Pod Times Square and I love it.
Times Square is pretty close, broadway as well. Tons of restaurants and pretty much the whole of Manhattan is reachable from the Pod Times Square location. I totally recommend the Pod, and of course I'll be staying at Pod Times Square next time I'm in New York!
The decor was modern, the lobby was clean, the receptionist was pleasant and acknowledged my birthday in a welcome way. At night, in the lobby, there’s a tabletop tree with miniature linen-like bags with lavender petals to give you a calming sleep. I thought that was unique and thoughtful. The hotel is very close to the pier to take ferry rides or do a helicopter tour of New York City. It was an enjoyable stay
The hotel is in the best location I've stayed in yet in New York. It's only a short walk from all major attractions - Times square, Bryant Park, Madison square garden and the summit one. The hotel staff were great couldn't do enough for us. Room was small but same as higher priced hotel rooms in New York. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. I would stay again.
This hotel is in a wonderful location! Close to so many things within walking distance. So many wonderful restaurants in Hell’s Kitchen. We stayed at the Belvedere when visiting my son, who lives New York City. Great size if you love the smaller cozy hotels. We have stayed here three times now, and have never been disappointed.
SIXTY Soho was and always will be the best hotel to enjoy New York City & Manhattan - lots of cafes and restaurants around and easy access to Midtown, Brooklyn and Financial District. The Staff is exceptional from front desk to housekeeping - customer focus, friendly and supportive. we also will come back a third time 😍
I was 1 block away from Times Square, which I usually try to avoid, but once I got in from the hustle and bustle of the city- Riu was a VERY nice hotel. Staff were friendly, the bed was comfortable and the space felt rather spacious compared to other hotels I've stayed at in Manhattan. A good value overall.
It was exactly as expected. Its got the American Horror Story feel as far as its decor and age of a hotel which in a way was very cool. Room was as described just felt old and tired. The pull out bed was very uncomfortable. Otherwise a good stay for the money as it was cheaper than most in NY city.
The Staff was very kind and helpful, the whole hotel is clean and in in good condition. we had a spacious room at the 19th floor with a nice view on the "New Yorker" and on "The Edge". The Subway is only 10 Min away and Times Square is nearby. A good choice for Midtown Manhattan.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It is very cheap for the city center, very clean, cozy, comfortable. It totally exceeded our expectations. The stuff is perfect, very polite and nice. Everything is very close to the hotel. We would absolutelly recomend.

Very comfortable boutique hotel in the hearth of Manhattan. Room very nice and comfortable, both room and common spaces very clean. Super location, at 2 steps from times square and central park. Very nice evening food and drinks at the hotel included in the room price.
The hotel is conveniently located in Manhattan, a few minutes from the grand central terminal metro station. It was easy to access major attractions in midtown by foot and other parts of the city by subway. The room was clean, and the restaurant was ok.
It’s a great hotel with fantastic staff in a good midtown location. Hotel was clean and room was comfy and a reasonable size by New York standards. Good WiFi. Subway station round the corner. A good base to explore Manhattan.
The bed was incredibly comfortable, the service every day was perfect and the location just the best! I would reccomend this hotel to everyone that is looking for spending time in New York city and especially Manhattan
Loved the city view, the comfy bed, the helpful staff, the Starbucks coffee, the security doorman, the big bathroom and great shower, the location near Times Square, it was clean. Perfect place to stay.
The price of the hotel was ok and it was close to the attractions of New York.
Also the bed was comfortable.
Plus, we could leave the luggage there after checkout until we left New York City
Great service. Although can’t call it cheap, but regarding New York prices, good value for money. Close to subway and can reach Times Square, Barclays Center and JFK with just one ride.
location was great for 5th Avenue, Times Square, subway and Central Park. Manhattan city views were great and room size was good (for New York City). Staff were friendly and helpful.
The location was nice: near Central Park and Times Square.
Also, a few subway stations at walking distance.
The hotel was a good starting point for visiting Manhattan overall.
