This hotel is within easy walking distance of the historic Salem port, and of restaurants in this historic district. Our room was large, with two huge beds {one king-sized bed might have been preferable}.

The amount of thought that had gone into everything, having wireless chargers on both bed side tables, a white noise machine and a specific wash cloth for makeup and robes. Everything was thought about. The room was incredibly clean and looked like the pictures

Such an interesting historical gem of a city.
Such an interesting historical gem of a city. Lots to explore, contemplate and take in. You absorb the witchy vibe in a cool way, but then keep exploring the museums, waterfront, parks and fantastic shops and restaurants. Like a mini-Boston, but more focused.

Anybody that is in to the type of stuff in Salem would love it. Could spend a week there just looking at all the shops. Then you have the tours and self guided paths, you really just have to research what you are into.

Salem is a fun place to visit.
Salem is a fun place to visit. Lots of attractions and activities to keep you busy. Food was great and many places to choose from. We liked Reds, Dire Wolf Tavern and Carmel Patisserie.
I would highly recommend any time of year because of the variety of attractions and places to visit. The Witch Dungeon Museum and the Witch House were among my favorites to visit.
Awesome place for a girls get away. We were able to walk everywhere and see what we wanted. The boutiques and shopping were awesome.
We also did a Psychic Reading and a Witches Circle and Witch City Walking tour. We loved all of them. I would definitely come back and do them again.

The history of Salem is just so.. Interesting, colorful, fasinating, rewarding and a little sad. What human beings can doing to each other is unbelievable in both evil and good ways.
We stayed at the Salem INN and loved it. Ate at Turners, Rockafellas and some other places that slip my mind. These two were great.

The museums moved along quickly and provided a hood educational background of the Salem Witch trials. I purchased a multi pass ahead of time, which I usually do to offset expenses/time when vacationing. Suggest you book ahead the tour of The House of Seven Gables. There were plenty of good restaurants to choose from and all staff at each eatery were more than pleasant and excellent wait staff. I would not recommend for families with children younger than 10/12, and unfortunately the museums are not intended for those with physical handicaps (steep wooden staircases which lend to historical preservation).
The hotel was very cool, although it would have been nice to see a little spookiness. The rooms were huge! The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The shower was a dream and they had great body products including conditioner, which no one seems to carry any more, but they do. Bergamot even ..wish I could buy some.
I like that they had purified water stations on each floor, but non of the sparkling water buttons worked.
The room we picked was GORGEOUS!!! We love that The Cove has very cool themed rooms (we stayed in the Under the Bay room)!! Also the staff were all very friendly and super communicative! They even got my friend cupcakes for his birthday!! Overall a very comfy, visually stunning, fun time! The art in the room was so captivating that we almost didn't want to leave the hotel to go do things in town! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
The room was insanely large. I have never been in a room so big. It had 2 walk in closets. 2 queen size beds. a sitting area. This room was just bigger then I had ever seen a hotel room be. We liked the large room, the quite hotel, the pet friendly floor, the fact everything was in 2 minutes of walking out the door of the hotel. The food was good, serve friendly.
Such an incredibly beautiful house to stay in. So many special details, trinkets and artworks to peruse throughout the home. Rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. Some really lovely breakfast options to choose from in the mornings. Location was fantastic. Would love to stay again if I ever make it back to Salem.
There’s no breakfast available, however there were restaurants close by. The staff is available by text every day. They reach out several times a day. We prefer to decline housekeeping in hotels due to the electronics we travel with. This was not an issue with the staff. We would definitely stay here again.
The front desk staff and valet drivers were all super accommodating and friendly. The room was always cleaned thoroughly and breakfast was always delicious. We were worried that the hotel might be a little out of the way, but it’s actually very centrally located.
The room was perfect for my girls trip with my daughters. The trundle bed gave us plenty of sleeping space. The location of the hotel was absolutely perfect. Could not have asked for a better location, it was central to all the fun things to see in Salem.
Amazing communication from the hotel and incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Nice traditional hotel. We stayed in Peabody 6 which would sleep 6 with plenty of space. Facilities were great and breakfast was delicious.
Beautiful room, comfortable beds and very clean. We stayed in the newly remodeled part of the hotel and it was great! Perfect location if you want to walk to all the local attractions, shops and restaurants.
This hotel is beautiful and the breakfast and snacks especially the cookies were wonderful. I couldn't have loved it more. The location is fantastic. So comfortable and stylish plus staff are very helpful!
The location was very good. The staff was very accommodating. Knowing it was an anniversary trip, the hotel gave us a bottle of champagne, chocolates and Salem Inn flutes to use and take with us.
It was a lovely modern stay for our trip to Salem. I imagine once you could sit outside (we had rain) it would be lovely around the fire pit. It was handy for us to park the car as well.
Great location in the heart of Salem (across the street from the Common and the Hawthorne Hotel event space).
The owners were friendly.
The historic space is beautifully cared for.
Comfortable, clean and spacious room. Nice up to date decor. High ceiling, Good Roman curtains and comfortable King bed, On a pedestian commercial street in the the Center of old Salem.
I loved how central The Merchant is located from everything in Salem.
I absolutely loved the aesthetic of the hotel and the breakfast scones! This place was cozy and fun.
Room was very spacious! The staff were so lovely and helpful throughout the entire stay. The location is completely central and so perfect for all of Salem’s attractions
