The location and general atmosphere of the immediate area...
The location and general atmosphere of the immediate area makes this hotel a great place to stay. There's a little food stand around the corner that has THE BEST FOOD! I can't remember the name of it but it is right around the corner from the hotel and it's women owned. Within walking distance.

A quiet little town filled with nice people!

A tire pressure warning came on just as I was leaving town at 430am; so lucky there is a newer Maverik gas station/minimarket that had an easy to use air machine with pressure selection and automatic stop at full. I don't carry quarters, or a tire gauge; my debit card saved the day and time lost getting back on the road. Celebrated with fresh hot coffee - really nice clerk.

Not much in way of attractions, but it's a great stop over...
Not much in way of attractions, but it's a great stop over when traveling through Utah. A relatively "dry" town so BYOB. I am in no way a fan of Denny's but I make an exception for the Denny's in Salina. The food is great and the service is outstanding. I can see why they are the #1 Denny's in Utah!!!
Asked to see room before checking in as outside did not look good. Front desk very helpful and showed willingly. We stayed in backside of hotel and the room was clean. Nothing extra to want us to stay again, but if looking for a good night's sleep, it is fine. Bed was great! Bag breakfast. Restaurants closeby. Downtown Salina is seeing no revenue from stores as they have closed down.....all except Mom's Cafe, (great pie) and an ice cream store down the Main St.
After a long day of hiking in Zion and driving more than 3 hours, Salina is an easy town to arrive in. Small with gas station, Cafe, grocery store. High Desert Inn is right on main street. Owner chatted pleasantly at reception. As soon as I entered the room, I thought, "Oh this is nice!". Fresh new white paint, updated fixtures, lovely linens. The next morning I needed to use their land line and they were so helpful. Great place . Great people.
This was the cleanest and best maintained hotel that I have come across in a roadtrip around North America. There were also thoughful little things - baking soda in the fridge, extra cloths for mopping up spills, a dedicated makeup face cloth. It was also quiet, comfortable, and felt safe. No breakfast, but there are excellent options very close by.
I was happy the room had a refrigerator & microwave!! My daughter & I ate our bagged grab-n-go breakfast at the small cafe table in the little rose garden…it was lovely!! The hotel clerk was friendly & shared some fun facts about the hotel & area. Fresh coffee in the lobby got our next travel day off to a great start!!
We stayed in a big room that was like a studio apartment. It had a microwave, a portable oven, refrigerator, table and chairs and a nice TV. A great family-owned quiet place for a few days' respite that we needed from driving . There is a grocery store across the street and a cafe nearby.
Renovated rooms in an older hotel in a small town in central Utah-all we needed on our way to a great bike ride in Marysvale Canyon. We felt like we had a nice time stepping back to the 1950's-even had dinner just down the way at Mom's Cafe!
Location on back side of hotel important given the trucker traffic. First floor was helpful for unpacking. Local facilities great for food, fuel, etc. Pet walking area convenient.
we stop in salina in the middle of a big transfert and find out this motel, room was huge and comfortable. all classic service included and gentle staff. good price.
The rooms are attractive, clean, well supplied, and well maintained, and they've kept the prices reasonable. This is my go-to hotel when driving through the area.
Very friendly staff! I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and comfort of the hotel. The bed was really comfortable and the air conditioning worked well.
