La Quinta by Wyndham Newport, hotel in Seal Rock

Oregon Coast Aquarium is 5 minutes’ walk from this Newport hotel. Breakfast is provided daily and guest rooms feature free Wi-Fi.

I really appreciated the one and only lady working the entire hotel by herself which by the way had no vacancy. She was on top of everything even though she had a lot going on. All while being extremely friendly and customer focused.

This is a great house and could be an amazing rental with minimal effort. Unfortunately, it was not a great visit due to dirty sheets on one bed, non-functioning shower/tub in one bathroom, no pans to use in the oven (plenty of fry pans for stove-top), no cable/satellite TV. I contacted Vacassa immediately via text upon discovering each issue, and they promptly texted me back that they would reach out to the "local team" to correct my situation. There was no contact from local team and no resolution of any issue. I'm pretty easy to please, but all these things added up to an extremely disappointing stay - not to mention it was over the July 4th holiday so the rates were triple the normal rate. I will avoid Vacassa rentals in the future if at all possible. The house is in a great location. We loved Luna Sea Seafood and Seal Rock State Park.

Seal rock is a hidden gem!

Seal rock is a hidden gem! It's just past Newport so It's not as busy, but there is still a great little bakery, a place for ice cream and a few local shops for gifts. The beach access off Curtis drive was awesome! Just a park and a short walk, loved it!

Seal Rock isn't big or touristy which is nice if you want a quiet trip. The beaches are some of the prettiest along the Oregon Coast and have some of the best tide pools when the tide is out. Do go to the coffee shop. They have good pastries too.

Great, wide-open beaches, with spectacular rocky headlands. Newport and Yachats are close by, as are several state beach parks. This part of the Oregon Coast is beautiful, with fewer people and lots of natural beauty.

There isn't a lot to do in Seal Rock itself, but there's plenty of beautiful sights & then there's lots to do in neighboring cities. We have special diets, so finding restaurants with food for us was a bit challenging, but with a little research, we did fine!
