I loved my stay here and the room and bathroom were spotless and well appointed. Location was great for closeness to the Fjord cruises as well as restaurants in walking distance. Shuttle service excellent for travelling further into town as well as the pick up for the coach back to Anchorage.
Hotel Seward is less than 5 minutes’ walk from Alaska Sea Life Center and offers a free shuttle service. Period-inspired rooms offer a flat-screen cable TV. Free WiFi is available.

Breakfast…
Very cheap food for the type of lodge. Next door at Miller’s landing you had great coffee and a selection of food for vegan, veg…
Today people that travel to this type of lodge want real eggs, fresh fruits, more variety.
Seward is a nice small town. We went during the off season. a lot of things where closed or had limited hours during our trip. We missed out on a few items we would have liked to check out but there was still plenty to do in the area. Recommend a wildlife boat tour, we had a blast and still saw a lot of wildlife so early in the year. The Alaska Sea Life Center is a must see any time.

Hotel was well situated in a retail area with many options for food, ice cream, coffee and and drinks. The views of the harbor and access to it were great and right out the back door. The complimentary breakfast was good with both hot and cold items.

Lots of construction driving to/from Seward from Anchorage, so it took way longer than we had anticipated. It was a cute town and we enjoyed our 8.5 hour glacier cruise. I would definitely take a shorter cruise. Fox Island was a great part of our cruise.

Seward is a charming waterfront town with plenty of good restaurants and things to do. We took two incredible boat tours with Kenai Ford Tours; they were fabulous. There is plenty of hiking, and the city is nestled between mountains. Seward is the kind of place you hate to leave.

Highly recommend coming to take a glacier tour, whale watch, hike or to take children to the aquatic life center. Nice, locally owned galleries and shops with friendly keepers. Easy to get around and can access local parks and walking trails with close by parking.

It is obviously a tourist town with the 'big' thing being the boat tours with the Sea Life center being second, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I wouldn't take back what I saw on my day cruise (Humpbacks, Orcas, Sea Otters, Sea Lions, Seals, Holgate Glacier, etc) or at the Sea Life Center for anything (They have touch tanks that are awesome for kids or adults). The restaurants and outside food vendors had delicious food. We were only there for 3 days, but that seemed like the perfect amount of time to be there for anyone that is not going to be doing the more active nature hiking/climbing.
The place is in prime location with easy access to Seward port and Exit Glacier. It seems that hotel is managed by a family as Todd and other ladies took interest in taking care of everything. Todd explained in detail about the places to visit. He also listed down all the good places to visit. The whole family was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. I would definitely recommend everybody staying here and will definitely stay in this place again!
When I first walked up I thought it was a set for Schitt’s Creek. Clean on the outside, rooms had mixed matched furniture, nothing fancy … but clean. Only had two staff members, but they did their very best to make sure everybody was taken care of. Manager is a super hard worker. She tried to take time to talk to as many of the guest as possible. Not my typical type of place to stay, but it did the trick. In Seward it shouldn’t be about that hotel or motel it’s about the great outdoors.
It is like a hidden gem in the forest, there is also a stream surrounding the cabins. The owner kept the cabin very clean and really took very good care of the place, she refilled the water jar each day and really paid attention to the details that made this hotel exceptional. The place also has a nice fireplace and bbq facilities that you can certainly enjoy. A very good restaurant within walking distance, 13 min drive to either Seward or exit glacier, could not be better!
An older hotel with a lobby that is full of character. We stayed in the old wing with shared bathrooms, which we had no problem accessing. Room and bathroom were both good size and comfortable. Location is very close to Sealife center and several bars, restaurants, gift shops. Shuttle from railroad was efficient and the staff were lovely. They're really geared up for guests dropping their baggage when the railroad gets in in the morning but check in is 4pm
Excellent place to stay after roughing it on a cruise. We were lucky enough to be staying with other people (Ex US/CAN/British forces veterans) from all over the place and ended up singing around the fire, drinking bourbon until the early hours! Staying in the yurt was the highlight of our 2 week holiday in Alaska and Canada. The host (Heather) and her husband were exceptional, going the extra mile by booking a discounted excursion for us the next day.
The room was amazing! Spacious, welcoming, clean and with more than you need… A fully equipped kitchen, walk-in closet, large (and of course clean) bathroom! Very nice!
The view was great. From the outside the building didn’t look very inviting, but the inside made definitely up for it.
You should be aware that without a car it is a bit difficult to get to Seward Harbour or Downtown.
I enjoyed my stay, I would come again!
I think it is a good price for Seward. It is less than a mile to the tours and less than a mile to the restaurants. I dropped off the car and walked quickly to the dock. Then after dinner, some people walked back to the hotel. The hotel was clean. For Alaska 9/10 clean. For a $250 city hotel I'm sure you can find things to complain about. No fuss, normal motel style.
Very friendly, personal and comfortable with everything you need. Close to the Marine Wildlife Center, but a bit far away (to far to walk, especially when it is raining) from the cruise terminal and for the starting point of Kenai Fjord Tours. If you have a car, the perfect place to be. :-) I can highly recommend Trailhead Lodging- Seward.
Not only was it a good location but the hotel itself was better than I expected. Everything was really clean, sanitized, and I loved the decor. My room had an electric fireplace which was a plus. The tv had plenty of channels to choose from. If I ever come back to Seward this is the first place I would choose to stay.
Lovely place to stay in Barrow. Beautiful home with Inuit art. Very comfortable, clean room. Hosts very helpful and welcoming. Good breakfast. Unless you need to stay in the big hotel or the one near the airport, this is far more home-like and personal. Only about a ten-fifteen minute walk to center of town.
Such a great place to stay! Our cabin was right next to the beautiful creek. The room was spacious, clean, and beds were new and very comfortable. The cabin was located a short walk from the restroom and showers. Both restroom and showers were very clean. Our host Brandon was awesome.
Located in downtown Seward this hotel is close to everything. Being an older hotel, there are some drawbacks, but overall we really enjoyed the stay. The manager, George, is a unique individual who does a great job of taking care of the guests!
We stayed at a cabin which was big enough for the three of us. We loved the fresh smell of plants from the outside when the window was open. Quiet surroundings, close to the Exit Glacier and Seward.
