Solvang is pretty and green in the spring.
Solvang is pretty and green in the spring. The summer will be hot and dry! Even in March, many tourists were in town. The unfortunate side effect is that some local restaurant staff could be a LOT nicer.
Vin & Mad has an incredible dinner for us! I recommend this restaurant but be prepared for stairs and an uphill if you are traveling with someone that may have limited mobility.
Breakfast can be challenging, long waits even in the off season.
Parking can be a challenge for those with mobility issues as well.

So much fun! Plenty to do.
So much fun! Plenty to do. Staying on Mission had me in walking distance of all the shops, restaurants, tasting rooms, and fun. Loved the architecture and everyone was so friendly. I highly recommend a trip to Solvang.

Cute little Central Cal town where studio writers for LA go...
Cute little Central Cal town where studio writers for LA go on retreats, and throngs of tourists visit the O.G. Danish-looking town. The architecture is different than anything in CA, and there is a labyrinth of shops and restaurants to explore. So many great options peppered with wine tasting and beautiful vistas nearby. Dolce Café has amazing coffee and a unique menu of baklava, breakfasts, sandwiches and ice cream. Peasant's Feast came recommended by Michelin and went above and beyond. The Coyote Creek Inn serves as a wonderful wedding venue. But mostly, getting lost in the alleyways around town is always so much fun!
Solvang is a great stop between LA and San Luis Obispo. Two nights in perfect, three if you wanna move more slowly.

Fantastic, quaint little town in beautiful countryside.
Fantastic, quaint little town in beautiful countryside. Every single person we met in town was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The town itself is extremely pet friendly and tourists everywhere has their dogs with them.
This is by far the best place we have ever stayed. The cottage and the location is perfect. We didn’t even have to move our car. The cottage definitely is making us want to come visit Solvang at least two times a year. When everything was closed we sat on the porch talked and eating. The porch is fun for little ones. Instead of my daughter being stuck in a small hotel, she was able to walk and run around in the front. Everything was closed off with a gate so I felt comfortable.
The rain shower head and water pressure were amazing!! The bed was very comfortable. The balcony was lovely with views of the park. We enjoyed sitting outside and drinking our coffee. Room was spacious and clean with a contemporary aesthetic. We liked that the admin could be reached via text. Also, we enjoyed using the complimentary robes, slippers and mugs. The location is perfect for walking through Downtown Solvang.
Location was perfect for downtown Solvang... shops, food, etc. The staff was exceptional and friendly. The first morning there we got coffee and sat by the pool. The desk agent came right out and lit the gas heater on the circular table for our comfort. A nice touch/offering without being asked to do so. We will definately stay here again on our next visit to the wine country.
The room was very clean and spotless. I absolutely love the no-contact check in method. There was no need to go to the office to check in and check out, and the key for the room was already ready for me before I reached the hotel. I love how it is such an easy walking distance for just about anywhere in town.
We loved how well built the hotel was - no outside or neighbor noises bothering us, the rooms were spacious and the bathrooms had a his/hers sink which was great. There was everything you'd need. It was on a quiet street but still very central to Solvang. Would definitely stay here again on our next visit!
The hotel was right downtown so it was easy to walk around & enjoy the town. We arrived early so they texted us when the room was ready. Room was clean & staff was nice. Because of COVID breakfast was brought in a bag to the little table outside our room right @ the time we scheduled. Would recommend.
Absolutely adorable facility. The room was so cute and cozy. The bathroom was updated and very clean. The outside areas are so gorgeous and it's a short walk to the downtown area. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. 11/10! I will definitely be staying here in the future
Absolutely gorgeous hotel in beautiful Solvang. Centrally located. Lovely rooms with the best of fixtures and fittings and linens used. Very nicely decorated. Loved the fire in the lobby. Hotel had a high end lodge feel to it. We didn’t want to leave. Very friendly town.
The King Fredrik was a great location, right in the heart of this Danish Town.
The staff were super friendly and welcoming.
The room was lovely, I particularly loved the wave/rain/thunder/ noise machine, what a great touch.
Would defo recommend this hotel :)
Location is less than 5 minutes walk to downtown so convenient for shopping and dining . I reserved room no.5 for 5 peoples and the room has second floor so if you have heavily luggage pls consider but it’s ok for my family because it made more space for us.
location! Location! Location. our room was just steps away from the main shopping street in downtown Solvang. the room was spacious with sitting area, dining table/chairs, small convenient kitchen area and the bed was very comfortable with nice bedding.
Clean, cozy room with high ceiling, fridge/freezer, microwave, TV, 2-person shower stall. The bed was quite comfortable. Very close to downtown Solvang. The contactless check-in and check-out via phone was convenient. Overall I would stay again.
Location was amazing - right in downtown Solvang. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool and hot tub are a plus because it gets hot in the summer. Free Danish pastry breakfast! Loads of parking on site.
