The hotel was well situated. The room had a lovely little terrace attached but unfortunately the weather was too cold for us to sit outside.

While the location is good, guests should be aware of traffic noise. Room did supply earplugs and "white noise" machine but not expected at $400+ per night. Bed and pillows are way to soft. Of course I am 4 years older now.

Beautiful small beach town close to Montecito and Santa Barbara. Do the beaches and take a horseback ride on the beach. Great wine tasting just a walk away. Shops are great as well as the local dining choices. Perfect Romantic Getaway.

We loved Summerland.
We loved Summerland. It's close to everything that the Santa Barbara region has to offer. The beach is long, sandy, and beautiful. Summerland is home to one of our favorite wineries, Summerland Winery. The Inn on Summer Hill is gorgeous. It probably gets packed in the summer, but we were there in the late winter so it was empty. We ate at a great Sushi Teri in Carpinteria. I thought it was great.

Staff appeared to be living in lobby/check in area, room was dirty, shower was a tiny closet and had what appeared to be tuna or some kind of meat on the door, bad lighting in room (one lightbulb was hanging by exposed wires), there was a cheez-it under my bed, the bad shades on the windows let the light of passing cars in all night long, there were cigarette butts outside the door on the ground, there was no clock & we paid $220/night for the room. The Fiesta overcrowded all the affordable hotels and drove up the price of this dive.

Parking was good. No breakfast.
Parking was good. No breakfast. I guess I thought this place was a B&B but it isn't. No problem for us since we were going out to breakfast with friends, but others might expect there to be a really nice breakfast for the price (around $250 / night). Our floor was dirty (sand from beach?) and the bedside light had a broken switch. (Room 2) Cold water in sink was hot and hot water tap was hotter. Long hair on wall of shower (I have very short hair as does my husband so not ours.) Might not have been cleaned. Beds seemed OK. Older place that was once cute, but not being maintained or cleaned well. Maybe everything there is expensive but had we known the condition we would have stayed somewhere else.

Summerland itself is a small and charming place.
Summerland itself is a small and charming place. It's location makes easy access Santa Barbara, Montecito or if you're traveling through to Southern California. It is close to the freeway, so noise is a factor. I visit the area often and it has a nice feel to the town. For dining, you would need to travel to a nearby town as Summerland doesn't offer much, if at all for restaurants.
The young man who checked us in did a great job and was very friendly. We loved the "small bites" times and the delicious, freshly made breakfasts. Loved how the room was decorated, and the window view. Also, it worked out for us to use the little dining room for carry-on dinner the second night. Reservations were challenging because there were 7 of us, so we really appreciated the hospitality shown.
The staff was personable. By that I mean they treated you like a person. There are only two front desk people. I spoke with Chris most. I thought breakfast would be like a Ramada Inn. No! There was a chef, Jesus, (Good luck with the new baby Jesus!), who prepared our breakfast to order. He made sure to not serve us the same things every day. He even gave us treats.
I totally 💯 appreciated Summer Hills staff. I was welcomed 🤗 🙏🏽 with superb warmth and Love. The place was super clean and homey. It did not feel like a hotel room at all. Check out was as easy, simple, and fast. Due to my disabilities, I at the last minute had to request a later checkout, and again the staff quickly Accommodated me.
A wonderful boutique hotel.
Felt at home. Kitchen stuff added strawberries to my breakfast when they realized that this is what I like for breakfast. Cookie out of the oven for our family picnic. Amazing stay. Beds are very comfy.
