The location was beautiful. The host provided the absolute best hospitality I've ever had at any Airbnb. They thought of and provided everything that you will need to make your stay comfortable. Even greeted us with a little bag of goodies.

The staff was okay, we really only interacted with one person though. The room was clean and the bed was comfy, although we did hear the opposite from other guests.

I drove Route 66 two years ago and this reminded me of the best parts of that trip.

Sylva is a small scenic town in southwestern North Carolina.
Sylva is a small scenic town in southwestern North Carolina. You can walk the sidewalks and visit the shops without having to drive. There are a couple of places that make their own beer if you're into that. A lot of places are closed on Monday, so keep that in mind.

Sylva is a beautiful town nestled in a valley, the folks are friendly and welcoming, and the mountains all around are stunning. We were there during peak leaf season and just loved it. There are restaurants and shops and exhibits in the downtown area that make exploring and dining there fun. The old courthouse-turned-library is a must see, and you have to visit Baxley's if you like chocolate. We drove up to Pinnacle Park and walked a little way up the trail (it needs hiking shoes, which we didn't have) and were able to see pretty cascading streams and a lot of beautiful leaves. The City Lights Cafe (we got the Crepedilla and the Spinach chicken wrap) and the Balsam Falls Brewing Company (we got the Veggiepalooza wrap with shredded chicken) were so tasty and friendly that we went to both of them twice. The Blue Ridge Inn was situated perfectly for convenient parking and walking throughout the town. The town is very walk friendly, with crossing lights everywhere, and motorists who were polite and careful. We also visited the nearby Museum of the Housecat, and just loved that too. Sylva is a great central spot for exploring the area.

I love this little mountain town and all those like it in the area. I usually stay in Dillsboro, but opted to stay in Sylva this trip. It was great, the library up on the hill is amazing and offers incredible views, there are restaurants nearby. The property is no frills, but it was perfect. It had all I needed for this trip. Great value! Definitely going to visit again.
We had a great stay! The house is very conveniently located close to town and a short drive to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The house has its own walking trails with amazing views, swinging bridge and a pond! Paradise for kids (and adults too!). Our kids couldn’t stop playing around, hiking and fishing! Our host Lillian was amazing! She ensured we had all we needed for our stay. Communication was easy and quick. We appreciated her recommendations on what to do in the area. There is so much to see and explore nearby!
Don and Renie Wood were the most incredible hosts I’ve ever met. The environment they have created goes beyond need into expectation – and they have considered everything! And if they haven’t, then so open to suggestions to improve, which seems impossible… We thoroughly enjoyed our night, and with all the hotels and Airbnb's I have stayed at over my years, never have I felt so absolutely at home. I thank them for the hospitality which goes beyond simply ‘providing’. I, and my friend, would stay again in a minute.
We booked a last minute night (and then a couple more nights) due to an unexpected hospital admission for my parents. The staff at Blue Ridge Inn was so welcoming and helped accommodate us during a very challenging time. The hotel was clean and the location perfect. The staff helped my Mom move rooms since we had to book one day at a time. They made sure she was taken care of the entire time. I can't recommend this place enough.
Beautiful views, very peaceful and tranquil. Very well stocked kitchen. The drive to get in is not great. Potholes and gravel meant we got stuck at one point and I thought we might have to walk the remaining half mile or so with our stuff.... This stopped us leaving the cabin to go an explore nearby places while we were there, but we had enough supplies for the weekend and ended up staying an extra night. I would go back!!!
The house was great-Comfortable and clean and we (family of 3 adults and two teenagers) had everything we needed. Beautiful view of the river and cozy star gazing at the fire pit or in the hot tub. We loved floating in the beautiful clear water of the river and watching the geese fly in every morning. We would definitely book again if we return to the area
Being able to walk anywhere downtown from the hotel is great. Their rooms are clean and the rocking chairs outside are perfect for slowing down. Property management was also extremely helpful and quick when we had a technology issue (that we created).
Loved the mountains, the house was large and well equipped. Lots of outdoor deck and seating areas. Very quiet with virtually no close neighbors. once off the mountain, a short drive to many nearby towns.
