The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. As a solo traveler, they made me feel safe and comfortable. I forgot the coat in the room and they texted me about it right after I left. Not all hotels do that. The location is great, walking distance to many attractions. Safe to walk around during the day. Also the bus is just in front of the hotel.

Searched hard to find affordable accommodation with free car park in San Fran, and Columbus Inn did not disappoint! Excellent location - walkable distance to the wharf area, felt safe. Car park is not gated but is under cover and did feel safe as well - we did take all our belongings out of the car in case, however there were no issues at all. The staff were very warm and helpful. It is an older hotel, however we were pleasantly surprised with how clean everything was! (I am a clean-freak as well). Really nice attention to detail of the little needs - plenty of electric sockets to charge devices at the bedside tables, coffee/tea options, included shower gel & shampoo, vending machine in the hallway. Would definitely stay here again!
