What a lovely homestay!! Really recommend it! The owner is a really lovely man, so smiley, kind and helpful. He went above and beyond to make our stay great, providing us with water and snacks in the extreme heat, coming to pick us up at 3:30am from our sleeper bus and also from our tourist activity when we couldn’t get a taxi. He then took us on a tour of the rice fields, all without asking for anything in exchange. On top of all of this the location is beautiful, very close to the duck stop and the rooms are very clean and big. Couldn’t recommend it more :))

Our stay at Hillside Homes was very enjoyable. The owner Trung made our stay at Phong Nha very easy. He picked us up from the bus stop and dropped us back to the bus stop when we were leaving. Trung was easily contactable throughout our stay and nothing was too much hassle for him. Location was good, 5 min drive from town and 10mins from the duck stop. Room was a good size and clean.

The location is great. Staff were very nice and helpful. Decent food available to order on site. There was AC in the dorm and privacy courts in for each bed. Lockers available for carry on size luggage (bring your own lock). OK value for money.

Gorgeous view and delicious menu. Thanks so much for the early checkin after arriving by sleeper bus. Helped book cave tours with many different options available. Would definitely stay here again, longer than 2 nights next time.

There is a huge pool shaped like a sailboat. The water was not the cleanest I have seen in my life, but it was clean enough. If I had kids, I would let them play in the water without being worried. We enjoyed cooling down there after a long day of cave hunting and moppet riding under the sun.
