What a perfect spot! We loved Denmark farm, although our stay was brief. Lots to explore around the cottage and a stream, stoep and fire-pit...what more does one need?!!
Mountain View Country Guest House is set on a sheep and cattle farm, near the N10 highway and 25 km outside of Cradock.

Great rooms, friendly atmosphere, exceptionally good prepared breakfast! They even backed a fresh bread for us.

Hanna, received me very nicely and opened the gate for me. You can park right in front of the little house and the gate is lockable.
I had burnt some toast and it was very smoky. Hanna, was cool and the smoke cleared quickly thanks to the fans. Nothing is missing in the flat. If there is something special, Hanna is on hand with help and advice.
Top, would come again!

Breakfast was great. All round it was a very good stay - comfortable and beautifully appointed suites.
People were very friendly. Restaurants AMAZING! Incredible to find food like that in a little town, but I would definitely stop there for a meal again. TRUE LIVING and THE SHED were outstanding! The shops were well stocked and like I said, people really friendly. Not much happens there for tourists, but its worth a night over. Thanks. We will be back.

I was.
I was. So surprised with the beauty of the buildings and the furniture. When the people saw, when I arrived at the front desk, that I have difficulty walking, they moved me t a downstairs room, without me asking. I did appreciate this very much. All the staff were very friendly and kind. I ate two meals a day in your dining room, I enjoyed all the food so much.

A beautiful Karoo town.
A beautiful Karoo town. Most certainly still the capital of the Cape Midlands. There is much to do and see in and around town. It is evident that the community and other private institutions are doing much to preserve and maintain the town and its infrastructure.

Cradock is not a tourist destination as such, although we found a nice little pub/coffee shop for dinner and the one street with renovated old houses (now part of the hotel).
Otherwise looks like one big truck stop.
Fine for overnight - we stayed one night only before going to the Mountain Zebra National Park about km outside if town. The Park was great!

Roads not in a good state.
Roads not in a good state. There are many tourist sites near Cradock so it's perfectly situated. The host may be phoned for questions regarding anything and she will provide directions. I like the town.
The host, Abigail, makes the lodge shine! She smiles and makes sure everything is perfect for our stay. You can ask her to prepare bbq steak for dinner as well. The nearest town, Cradock, is about 10-15 minutes away.
We spent almost 1 hour to find the place because it is located somewhere near Mt Zebra reserve. Im glad that I didnt cancel our reservation because the way to the lodge is like game drive! We were greeted by wildebeests, impalas, kudus, on the way to the lodge. Wow!!
We honestly do not understand the negative reviews. The staff is very friendly and attentive, the rooms and the bathroom are great, very spacious and clean. The swimming pool is also very nice.
We had to leave early in the morning and they made a packed breakfast for us, which was very tasty. Basically every small detail is well taken care of to make the guests comfortable. Overall we had a wondeful stay and we definitely recommend it.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here-- we were given one of the two bedroomed houses on the street which was cosy, quiet and beautiful.Late in the evening the power went out so we had candles provided by the hotel which made it very atmospheric..
Dinner in the main dining room was a wonderful experience it was cozy, romantic and like stepping back a hundred years
Everything. From the warm welcome when we arrived till the day we departed. You can be proud of Abigail and her son opening the gate for us. She has gone far beyond her call of duty to ensure we comfortable and well taken care off. You will definately see us again and I will ensure other travelers are aware of this jewel close to Cradock.
We were moved from Karoowerf Guesthouse to De Oude Pastorie after the booking had been confirmed. It was a lovely venue, with great facilities including secure parking and a nice braai area where we were able to gather as a group and socialise. Rooms large and well appointed and a lovely Hostess to round of an enjoyable stay
Close to Mountain Zebra NP. Clean, quiet, and comfortable bed. Great views from covered patio and from pool. Friendly hosts. We walked around the property a bit and we’re rewarded some spectacular views of the surrounding Karoo Koppies. We were very happy we selected this farm stay instead of staying in Cradock.
The management were great.
The management were at all times ready to assist with anything we required to make our stay comfortable. They went out of their way to get the braai area ready even with place settings on the table. I would recommend this establishment to anyone who wanted to stay in Cradock 10/10
I was heading back to the eastern cape and was 10 hours into a long road trip. I was tired, needed to find somewhere to sleep and called my wife who found me Die Hoekhuis in Cradock. It was safe, with a hot shower and comforable bed (with an electric blanket), exactly what I needed!
The owner was so welcoming and patient, I loved everything about this place. Definitely using it everytime I'm in Cradock. My daughter was so mad that her iPhone wasn't working. She just saw a perfect place for content.very nice place
The Location was good close to the school for Marlow rugby tour. I didn't stay in Karoowerf was told I have to stay at Rose and Olive , 136 Frere Street Cradock. The shower head was repaired the same day it broke. Thank you
Very cozy place with an amazing host.
We felt so comfortable, electric blanket helped with the cold cradock nights. The unit has an inverter incase of power cuts, luckily we didn’t experience power outage.
Local restaurants were closed and the owner called the hotel and arranged for us to collect a plate of food and eat it at the establishment,, she returned the plates the next day
