Bath time was particularly delightful, there were salts and bath foam that was not your run of the mill small plastic sample bottles. The bedding was lovely and warm. All facilities were great.

Dullstroom is really lovely for a weekend away or a stopover from the Kruger area.
There are lovely shops and fantastic restaurants. The people are super friendly and its easy to walk around and discovery little things.
Mrs Simpsons restaurants is fantastic and the hosts are amazing. We also had wonderful meals at the MayFly, Baker Brothers, The Waffle Shop and, of course, Harries Pancakes.
It can get cold there but in general, all the places are kitted out for this and are warm and cosy.
In all honestly, the meals and curios are not cheap and some stores feel a bit like tourist traps but then again, no one is forcing you to purchase anything so it's up to your budget how much you spend. But don't expect a cheap little town.
The drive from Johannesburg is quite pleasant as most of the roads are actually in fantastic condition ... BAR the small drive through Belfast. So sorry for that little town ... the roads are terrible.
Oh ... be careful of cows and goats on the road. A cute sight but can be dangerous, especially on a misty morning.
Always happy for a little trip to Dullstroom!

Quaint and quiet village once you leave the main road with its cheek-by jowl shops, restaurants and bric-a-brac outlets. Beautiful countryside to explore once you leave the town. A few very expensive shops some of which sell quite a lot of imported products ...why? A few more affordable options for fly-fishing in terms of catch-and-keep options would be appreciated. More locally manufactured and produced products would have been appreciated e.g. why do all fruit sellers, sell exactly the same fruit coming from Limpopo Province!

The town closes on a Tuesday and some shops stay also close until their is more people in the town... Weird. Whiskey tasting can only happen when there is a big group of people, I completely missed out on that one, even at The Highlander Hotel I was staying, I was really looking forward to do the Whiskey tasting. Sorry 😞 , make sure you are a big group for that one!!

Fantastic location.
Fantastic location. Make sure you bring Doom spray as flies are continuous. Fellow guests that did not stay in the superior villas were complaining of sloppy housekeeping and really poor building maintenance. The restaurant next to reception has really poor attention to service and many guests complain of inattentive staff and poor quality food.
The Marigold (Critchley Hackle nr 37) cottage is a real gem and all 5 of us that vacationed in Dullstroom and stayed at Marigold agree on this. It is really a home away from home. The cottage had everything we need, the rooms are spacious and the cottage is ideally located - walking distance from the shops. Betty who serviced the cottage is very competent, friendly and professional and the owner, Guy was very supportive and able to answer all our questions and made a plan where needed.
The property was in an excellent location relative to restaurants and other attractions in Dullstroom and very near to a large playing field perfect for walking my dog. It was perfectly appointed and had a peaceful and beautiful garden. The cottage was serviced daily and there was a dishwasher which made cooking and cleaning up a breeze.
What an absolutely beautiful location. We went to Dullstroom for a wedding with a crew of friends, and sitting on the patio with a glass of wine in hand was magical. Breathtaking views, everything you need in the kitchen, great showers. A perfect spot for a getaway with a group.
We enjoyed to stay at the tiny house. We had a pretty good time in dullstroom which is also a very nice city
The rooms are equipped with a lot of things that I haven't expected (e.g. a small liqueur shot, coffee, tea, etc.)
Thanks so much for the lovely stay.
Beautiful location. Excellent host. Lovely walks and good fishing dams. Close to town but remote enough to be peaceful.
Lovely fires in the evening and co.st atmosphere for a large group. Spacious rooms. Lots of space for little kids to run arounnd.
Great Location in the centre of town. unit was clean and modern. our only complaint was that it was not really a self catering unit as it only had a microwave and fridge. it was not well appointed with dishes. However there are many restaurants nearby
Very friendly, helpful owners who couldn't do enough to ensure we had everything we needed and offer advice and information about Dullstroom. Main town, restaurants and shops within walking distance. Beautiful setting.
The setting of the hotel is beautiful, the staff very friendly and efficient. The beds comfortable with decent linen and towels. There are fantastic walks on the property along the river and trout dams.
Tranquility and great fishing for trout (brown and rainbow) and largemouth bass. Another highlight was the perfectly kept green lawn around the dams. We were all barefoot for most of the time. bliss
In the middle of Dullstroom, this brand new apartment-Hotel is super comfortable with everything you need as a couple. Suzanne our hostess is very helpful and responds to requests quickly.
Stunning location, superior room design excellent. Reception staff were well trained and professional. David the fishing expert was outstanding, very knowledgeable and helpful.
Hands down, the best self catering venue we have ever been to. Neat, modern, clean. Peaceful and safe. Within walking distance from the centre of town. We will be back
Still the best pub 'n grub in Dullstroom. Stays open later than the main toursits venues that all close down at 5pm. Food is great and good value for money.
