We have passed Heidelberg so many times (in a flash) on the N2. Little did we know what a lot of beauty there is there. The views from the hills surrounding the town are so beautiful and peaceful. We loved the way that locals, but strangers to us, greet you. We enjoyed the historical walk with its information boards and beautiful buildings. Went to a very enjoyable "Gin Tasting" evening at Delish restaurant. Were given lovely eats to pair with the different gins. Thoroughly enjoyed! Can recommend! Nice and relaxed!

Heidelberg is steeped in History and there is a Historical Walk through part of the town. The people are friendly. It is a mere 35 minutes to the sea and is the start of the Garden Route. We had supper at Delish, a really lovely restaurant with a roaring fire and great food. Heidelberg is small and one can walk to the supermarket and local restaurants.

Heidelberg is a useful stop over on the way to the Garden Route. The Delish restaurant on the N2 is excellent value and lovely food. Travelling across to Barrydale via the Tradouw Pass is excellent with stunning views
