I always stay in this hotel whenever I'm in Kimberley. The staff is friendly including the security guard. Whenever I'm in Kimberley it's always on business, so when I attend meetings that go past my check-out time, I'm able to arrange with the hotel to keep my luggage until such time that I'm able to come back from the meeting and collect it. I love that as it removes the stress of having to travel with my luggage to business meetings. I also love the fact that I can get coffee at anytime of the day or night without any extra charge.

Its a historic town whose glory has now faded.
Its a historic town whose glory has now faded. The Big Hole was definitely worth a visit, but most of the other historic houses and museums that we wanted to visit are closed during the weekend. (so, doesn't make sense for an out of town visitor at all)

People really friendly. Lots of old buildings which 8s amazing. Roads terrible though but everything else perfect. Great halaal places to eat was Don Boi and Mini Pakistan. The area around the Big Hole are horribly run down. It has wonderful late- Victorian architecture and if the authorities got their act together, it would be a great tourist attraction. The CBD (city centre) was incredibly dirty (litter everywhere) and felt mildly unsafe. This is sadly and unfortunately true of so many towns/cities (both small and large) throughout South Africa these days. The Big Hole Museum was a surprising breath of fresh air in an otherwise dirty and unwelcoming environment. The city roads were fairly delipidated, with lots of small potholes. Again, this is simply an indictment of the corrupt and distressingly mismanaged municipalities and local government structures operating throughout South Africa.

There ought to be more local adventures that tourists could participate in; Live music concerts, festivals, interesting spaces to connect with other tourist perhaps. It was extremely tidy and clean and perfect to rest out and freshen up after a very long drive. Gerhard is the perfect example of a great host! We were welcomed and showered with kindness and he explained everything that we might need. There is a mall just 1km away with a top quality Spar and other take out restaurants. We loved our overnight stay here and would definitely return again at a given opportunity. Don't miss out on this place. Thank you so much!

The feel of an aristocratic residence with all the style that rich people from years gone by with solid doors and such style. The bathroom was an add on I believe and very modern and very pleasant with warm heater lamps, a very comfy bath and a double shower. I love the idea that the toilet is completely private. A little living area and kitchen set up. Large bedroom with a bathroom to match. Air BnB isn't big in Kimberley so this was refreshing as someone who loves privacy. Once you get your keys you won't see another soul till you leave.
