Situated in the Nambiti Big 5 Game Reserve, Nambiti Hills Private Game Lodge features suites with views of the natural surroundings.

The lodge itself is a pleasant place to be with the staff being exceptional. The staff go out of their way to cater for you and go the extra mile if required. Cheetah Ridge Lodge, hotel in Nambiti Private Game Reserve

Located 27 km from Ladysmith, Cheetah Ridge Lodge is situated within the Big 5 Nambiti Private Game Reserve, which boasts the Big 5 with a variety of other species and amazing birdlife.

The beautiful lodge is located in the south of the private game reserve. We had a fantastic time. Our guide Gerry was able to tell us so much about the animals and plants and was able to recognize and correctly interpret the tracks of the animals, which was very impressive. We also had many breathtaking and funny moments in our encounters with the animals. The safaris were always the highlight of the day. And if it was still fresh in the morning, there were even hot water bottles ready. The lodge itself and the staff never left anything to be desired. The particularly delicious food deserves special mention.

Rietkuil Country Cottages, hotel in Nambiti Private Game Reserve

Rietkuil Country Cottages is set in Cremin and has a pool with a view and inner courtyard views. This guest house offers free private parking and a 24-hour front desk.

Owner very kindly upgraded to family room with no extra cost as my 3-year-old grandchild joined - this was highly appreciated and definitely going the extra mile. Just found the double bed (room 8) a little uncomfortable, there seems to be a hollow in the middle and you keep rolling into the canter. Other than this we had a wonderful stay.

Value for money considered, for us - a little disappointed.

Value for money considered, for us - a little disappointed. The fine dining part: I would not consider it a true dining experience and left us feeling underwhelmed. Our first high tea was ok with an assortment of cakes and biscuits with toasted ham and cheese toasted sandwiches ( Which we must say was head and shoulders above the hot chips and mini kebabs we got the next day) . Breakfast was the normal A la Carte menu with the usual spread of yogurts and cereals. Dinner was enjoyable and we should really commend all the staff for the exceptional service. The bush part: The game park is more suited towards the person seeking a quite and relaxing time away from the city with the opportunity to see some antelope with the occasional member of the big 5. (Although we did see lion, it was through the fence of the boma they were in). Highlight of the trip being a moderate herd of buffalo at a watering hole to which the driver could take us pretty close to. The accommodation part: The lodge is a beautiful place to be, with a nice size swimming pool and lounging area ( Pool not heated as advertised, although could of been due to maintenance ) We just wished there was a bit more to do than either waiting for your Safari drives or meal times. (Understandably, this might not be the case for everyone, but we found ourselves constantly looking at the clock in anticipation for a reason to leave the room.) The rooms are luxurious, comfortable and spacious with everything one could want for a short getaway. As an added extra - the spa treatments were great and thoroughly enjoyed.

From check in to check out, Nambiti is a great place.

From check in to check out, Nambiti is a great place. The lodge was well appointed with great meals included in the price. Because it is situated on a hill overlooking the Nambiti game reserve we had great views at mealtimes as well as when we spent time at the beautiful pool. While we were spending time at the pool, we had antelope grazing literally meters away from us with their calves, this was the same for the rooms where it was a joy to watch them. The game drives were really the highlight with the guides making sure we get to the best viewing spots to see animals like lion, elephant and rhinos and there were more than enough sightings of antelope, they are a big 5 reserve so expect a lot of animals. The spa was a great experience with experienced staff and we enjoyed our session, beautifully situated as well. The lodge is starting to show its age, but they are planning an upgrade in the 2nd quarter which will make visiting Nambiti Hills a great experience.

    We found it awesome.

We found it awesome. We are both friends from California though I live in KZN now. Everything is taken care of with care. If anything is needed, it will be taken care of promptly. If you are looking for a safari where everything is taken care of and you want to see big game in their natural habitat, I strongly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

The overall experience at Springbok Lodge was awesome, Game driver Mlu was knowledgeable and with the other game drivers sharing information it gave us good animal opportunities to see a large selection.

    The whole experience was amazing.

The whole experience was amazing. The game drives were spectacular and Biggie was amazing. The food was really good, especially the Suppers. We loved the pool on the hot days, and the fire pit at night was a great place to chill.
