Sodwana is very small, basically one Road where all the eateries and little beach shops are based and then the beach and wetland park! A few days are more than enough giving you time to explore all there is to offer and do some diving as that is what Sodwana is most famous for! We arrived on Friday and left Monday and felt we had enough time to do everytjing we wanted to and explore all the beauty and adventure available. Seasoned divers may want to stay longer though. We dined at Mseni - excellent food, as well as Mguni restaurant who also served great food. EAT restaurant has a quirky interior and good meal options but our favourite was The Tree with their massive Burgers and large menu on offer.

We are regular visitors to rustic Sodwana Bay for the spectacular diving - it is a divers paradise!, After our 1st visit a number of years ago we made a point of getting there at least once a year. Now we have relocated to the KZN North Coast and this is our 4th trip to Sodwana within a year.

The accommodation and location is great, very clean and quick access to the beach, if you have a 4x4 you can drive on the beach with a permit. The food at the resort was great just service too a long time. This accommodation is NOT wheelchair friendly as you have to park at reception and walk all the way to the rooms. Phone signal is very poor in this area and WiFi is not available in the rooms, so communication is a problem with reception or anywhere else.

We went to Sodwana for Diving.

We went to Sodwana for Diving. The diving was good, the Dive Charter not. Next time we will use another Charter. Sodwana is a good get away from city life because of the remote and rustic environment. Back to nature and very peaceful.

If you stay outside the Parks Board gate and need to commute into the reserve on a daily basis and if you are there for more than a week, it is worth buying a Rhino Card. There are a number of dive operaters in Sodwana. We choose to dive with Sodwana Bay Lodge Scuba Centre... they are great! There are some good restaurants in the area. We ate at EAT restaurant (just outside of the Lodge). It was by far the best restaurant we ate at.

The place exceeded our expectations. we went as a group of 6 couples we had a lovely stay. The water from the shower was a concern as it was hot then suddenly becomes cold. would've liked to have a hot shower
