We arrived on Good Friday of the Easter weekend and settled into our accommodation at Eikelaan Farm Cottages. Saturday was spent getting to know the history of Tulbagh at the Earthquake museum, old church & cemetery, and wandering down Church street admiring the restored old buildings. Rijk’s Wine estate just outside of town for lunch, and Daphne’s for dinner. Sunday we enjoyed lunch at The Tulbagh Boutique Hotel at their Olive Bistro restaurant. Great food & wine.

We loved the wine farms and visited several. The Valentine's Day dinner at Manley wine estate was excellent and the Tulbagh Hotel dinner was very good.
The museums in the historic street are really interesting
It is an easy area to get around, albeit always by car.
We would avoid staying in such rustic accommodation and choose a wine farm instead

Could have stayed for a week instead of a weekend. Fabulous staff at the Cape Dutch Quarter Hotel, such an eclectic mix of Georgian & old Cape Dutch buildings .....all connected by peaceful gardens & even a lovely pool. Our room was self catering but with so many great eateries/vineyards we didn't bother cooking ourselves!!!! Highly recommend

We expected to browse around small shops, but there were none. The most exciting shop was a Second hand store. Beautiful buildings, but that's about it. We went on a Wednesday and Thursday. Maybe weekends are better? Went to Saronsberg Winery, which was lovely. Perhaps to venture outside Tulbach is the way to go.

Tulbagh is a lovely little town, situated just 1.5 hours away from Cape Town. The town has a very artistic "vibe" to it with lots of lovely places to visit. The surrounding farmlands are beautiful, and it is also in the heart of Swartland wine-country. Tulbagh is a place I do enjoy visiting and will happily recommend it to travels, both foreign and local alike.
Amazing place in the Tulbagh area. Perfect place to unwind, just enjoy the view and nature or explore the area. The cottages are very spacious and tastefully furnished. The bed was a dream and you could feel the personal touches everywhere. There are great wine farms around to visit. We also enjoyed the 5 km hike on the farm. The thing that makes this place extra special are all the people who run it. We would have loved to stay longer and will certainly stay there again if we get back to Tulbagh.
The view, weavers singing in the reeds, swimming in the dam. Quiet, peaceful, rejuvenating experience. Thank you for a wonderful holiday and for the solar panels (no loadshedding). The farm is so close to a multitude of attractions including: Tulbagh museums, Dried fruit farms, Waterfalls, Hiking routes, Leather shoe factory shop, other Wine farms (and as a guest you get a free wine-tasting at Lemberg), Zipline and Togryersmuseum in Ceres, the exceptional Animal Rescue Farm.
The spacious room with terrasse and the Spa bath! We enjoyed the amenities in the bathroom and the barbecue. There is a fridge and tea/coffee station with plenty of tea and coffee! The pool is of good size.
We stayed 2 nights and.wished we could have stayed an extra night!
Please note that almost everything in Tulbagh closes at 14h on Saturday.. a few wine estates close at 16h and almost nothing is open on Sundays... do your homework before you arrive!
The location is perfect as usual...we've loved coming here over the years. The kids love the open space & the sheep & just exploring the farm. The cottage has everything we needed and was a lovely home away from home. We loved that we didn't have to experience loadshedding while we were on holiday as they have a backup generator :-) That was absolute magic :-)
We absolutely loved our stay at this amazing place! Our first time in Tulbagh and we will definitely go back. The view of the mountains was perfect, a magical place to just rest and enjoy the scenery! We also did a wine tasting on the farm and thoroughly enjoyed all the wines. What a gem of a place. Loved loved every minute of it. We will definitely go back!
I loved the atmosphere of the place. It is a lovely wine farm steeped in history. When we arrived, we were treated to a wine tasting in the wine cellar right next to our room. Dirk is passionate and enthusiastic about his delicious wines and we couldn't go away without buying a box of his White Pinotage! We would love to visit again!
Reflections Guest Farm will definitely see us again in the near future. Place was spotless and spacious and well equipped with everything you would need for your stay. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. My kids didn't want to leave. Really a home away from home. Well done and keep up the excellent work you guys are doing.
Everything about our stay at Rijk's Wine Estate and Hotel was amazing. The service from the staff and management, the comfort and cleanliness, the breakfast...it was all great. Great location so close to the centre of the town of Tulbagh and very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful scenic views as well.
Most beautiful gardens and peaceful surroundings. Enjoyed the winetasting under the trees. We overnighted in the stables, loved the room and found it cool inside despite the heat outside. Loved the friendly family of dogs, they were well behaved and a pleasure to have on the farm.
A gem of a hotel with over 200 years of history and within walking distance of everything you need in the heart of Tulbagh. Breakfast was home cooked and lovely. Our room was fairly basic but very comfortable, well heated and more than adequate for our weekend.
Excellent location on a well known wine farm. Arrival and departure dealt with minimum effort. Friendly and efficient staff. easy access to other main attractions and the town (Tulbach). Fantastic views from the lawn area sampling excellent wines.
Everything - the quietness, the scenery, the hosts, accommodation. We are looking forward to Tulbagh again and most definitely coming back to Fraaigelegen Farm! We absolutely loved our stay there - definitely staying longer at the farm next time.
Great accommodation, very neat and tidy. It has everything you need from a self catering cottage. Marileze was very helpful and was always available via Whatsapp. I will definitely go back, hopefully with better weather next time!
Beautiful farm in a beautiful setting. Lovely friendly hosts. The bird life is incredible. They have lovely walks around the farm and we fell in love with the place.
What spoilt our lovely stay was the condition of the bed.
Everything was exceptional and very relaxing. The farm and units are perfectly located, and we could easily hop between exploring wine farms and the hot tub. We would definitely be back.
everything! the room was perfect for us and had the ideal location. It is close to restaurants, sight-seeing and the wine farms in the area.
Was truly more than we expected.
