There is nothing negative to say about our stay in Wilderness, other than I wish it could have been for longer! Our accomadation at Tranquil Shores, was simply perfect. Our host was so gracious and generous with advise for local activities and attractions. The room we stayed in was lovely and very tastefully decorated. Honestly this was such a lovely place to spend some time in.

The beaches and views from the top of Hoekwil or Map of Africa are too beautiful. The nature walks and general magical feeling of the place makes it an ideal holiday destination. It is close to the large town of George and Knysna with markets available on Saturdays, You would need a car to get around Wilderness.

One of the most stunning (and our favourite) beaches in the World. Plenty of good restaurants - great value. Loved the view from para gliding site but Map of Africa did not meet expectations. Very restful / having had busy 3 weeks beforehand. Restaurants - Las salinas; girls 👧 n the square; joplins steak house; pommodoro - all excellent and good value. Las S was our favourite; walking distance; good food and excellent service.

We stayed three nights in Wilderness and that was probably the perfect length of stay. It's a small town, but a very beautiful location. The long beach is nice, if you like that sort of thing. However, exploring the lagoon on an 'eco-cruise' is a 'must' and probably the most enjoyable adventure on our three-week stay in South Africa. Wilderness is also blessed with some good restaurants, 'The Girls On The Square' deserves an accolade, but 'Serendipity' is in a league of its own - one of the best restaurants I've visited anywhere in the world.

The lagoon and beach are easily accessible by foot. The is a good variety of reasonably priced restaurants providing good quality meals. Did appreciate knowing that there is a medical facility in town. Amazing opportunity for paragliding. Close to a number of beautiful championship quality golf courses. Enjoy exploring surrounding beaches and hiking.

This is an amazingly clean and beautiful property. It has a lovely pool with sunbeds and seating area to rear of property and the front of the property overlooks the most stunning beach. Little extras in the room make it absolutely fabulous. The hosts are extremely welcoming and friendly as is the family dog Duke. Would highly recommend.

Located at top of the "Dune" in Wilderness all Room have phantastic Ocean views. The modern rooms have all hughe "whole wall windows" so that even if lying in bed one has a perfect view on the ocean. All rooms have terraces or balconies. A wodden staircase/boardwalk (with a shower inbetween) directly leads down to the beach. Parkin lots in front of hotel. The lounge offers wonderful interior, terrific books and when it is cold a fireplace.

Beautiful guesthouse in a small, charming town - def get a room with a beach view. Lovely owner who notified me quickly when I left my computer behind! Very cute, friendly dogs and a pretty cat. Thoughtful little touches like a piece of chocolate on the bed and cookies in a jar. I hope to come back and spend more time in Wilderness one day, and would definitely stay here when I do.

Lovely little place with easy access to the beach and village. Friendly and helpful host. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was divine (we’ve been staying at various places on the garden route and Wilderness on the Sea is, so far, the only place to have a truly decent shower 🚿)
