Everything was just better than we expected. The property is gorgeous, very carefully taken care of, quiet and clean. The breakfast was delicious, we also had dinner there on our first night and the food was simple and authentic, very tasty and well made. We stayed in the house that was closest to the pool, the perfect place for a stay in the middle of the summer with the kids.

Thanks to Sonia and Bartolo´s recommendations we discovered amazing new places to eat and stay well, only to fall in love with Salento even more. We loved about the property the well maintained common areas and the beautiful garden with the small but refreshing swimming pool that is equipped with hydro massage. The terrace where to take the sun after a refreshing bath was also really enjoyable. The rooms were cleaned, large, and with everything needed. We particularly appreciated the simple but at the same time elegant and authentic Salentinian style of the rooms, that made the overall stay really unique. Finally, you can really appreciate the history of the place, and its beautiful “granai”. Special thanks to the owners Tommaso and Renata that made our stay authentic and were always there for a nice talk and to suggest new places and restaurant to explore.

We liked the modern furnished room with the terrace and beautiful surroundings. The nice gesture at our arrival was that the owner (daughter) offered as an aperitif and she also gave us small presents (home-made bread - something like rolled grissini). The owners did not speak English, but the friend of the daughter arrived and helped with the translation. They also helped us a lot to find the premises (since we had some problems with the car navigation).

I liked being in the real italy with small little towns all around . Also, the abundence of family owned restuarants in the area which are non touristic.Lastly, breakfast was abundant and included a huge mix fresh fruit plate which i put in the room fridge and ate it as a snack after lunch.

Masseria Vignenove was a delight. Set in extremely peaceful surroundings, the property and grounds were very well kept. It’s a small place with only about 6 rooms which was a plus for us! The pool area was immaculate and a great spot to watch the sunset over the fields. Breakfast was a selection of fruit, yoghurt, cakes and cereal with Fabrizio sometimes offering eggs or ham and cheese toasted sandwiches. The room was large, cool, well furnished, clean and modern. Uggiano, the closest town, is a 15-30 minute walk to restaurants and grocery stores. Fabrizio, the host recommends several great options for food. We tried Skafe for pizza which was tasty; Matisse, which was our favourite (romantic setting with well-priced fine dining); Agrodolce, another great spot (cheap, rustic food in a garden setting); and Mulino a Vento which was nice, but not amazing and the most expensive of the four. Go for the setting which is lovely, but don’t expect to be wowed by the food. I will say that Fabrizio did not include this one on his list (maybe with good reason). We totally recommend going to Porto Badisco and sitting at the Skafe location there which is set on the rocky headland overlooking the water. The beach is also good with an excellent restaurant serving simple but delicious food. We also recommend a trip to Otranto and the beaches beyond. Otranto is a fab seaside town with some nice beaches and a lovely old town to wander around in - find a restaurant away from the water as they’re cheaper and better! All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing time in Fabrizio’s neck of the woods and would highly recommend.

The family of the masseria that leaves close by is very welcoming and extremely helpful. It felt like home instantly. It is a very peaceful location with nature all around it. Having a car is highly recommended.
