Absolutely loved the stay in Casa Dos Barcos Furnas. We felt privileged to have the opportunity to stay there. The house has a history and it feels special. The owners left the food basket with the fabulous local produce, which was very much appreciated. We also had the acces to bicycles and kayaks which made our stay even more special. Every morning we would go to the garden opposite the goose to see the chickens that welcomed us running very excited. Very special stay. One of the kind. Loved every moment. Thank you 😊

We do :-) There are four of them all the time, often 3 or 4 guest cats as well. Sometimes there come around some chicken, too. The garden is full of fruit trees. A welcome fruit basket was provided when we arrived. Kitchen is well equipped, so we were able to prepare the fresh fish we bought at the next Pingo doce supermarket. Absolutely quiet. Very recommended.

The breakfast was fantastic, with a variety of fresh pastries to start our day. The views of the sea were absolutely stunning, and waking up to the sound of the waves was incredibly peaceful. The room is in the owner's house, so it's not completely isolated, but we felt welcomed. If you're looking for a beautiful retreat, we highly recommend A Villa by The Sea.

The breakfast served each morning was lovely and the staff are very kind and welcoming. There was a lovely lady in particular who offered to make scrambled eggs for each guest every morning. The shared pool is a good size with lots of sun loungers and is generally quite quiet. The town is a great place to be based as it's around a 30 minute drive to most of the must see places in Sao Miguel but has a nice small town feel. A lovely place to stay!LornaYoung couple
